Great Meal in Downtown Sarasota

We were staying on Libo Key for 2 weeks and met an old college classmate of my wife's for dinner at Caragiulo's. It is in a really neat area of Sarasota. Easy access with a parking garage just behind the restaurant (and free parking.) We started with wine in the bar while waiting for our... read more

We were recommended to this restaurant by friends and trip advisor reviews. Sadly the veal piccata was tasteless as well the linguini with clams. It felt like the chef had lost his spice knowledge. Compared to Matto Matto I would have to say it doesn't begin to compare with real Italian cooking.

We were in Sarasota for the half marathon and of coarse needed to do our carb loading and the Hyatt-recommended this place. First of all you have to get there early like 5:30 on a Saturday if you do not want to wait but if you do have to wait it is well worth it. The bread was warm, the... More

Very nice location, ambiance and service. Food was delicious -- Gorgonzola cheese & pear pizza, and Chopped "1989" Salad. This Palm Ave. restaurant never disappoints. Will definitely return.

I don’t get why this place has been busy both times I’ve been there for dinner. I’ll venture a few guesses: it’s location is good & rich withering old people who’ve lost their taste buds – everything taste good after a few $6 alcoholic beverages amirite? Everything is well below average. Overpriced, not good service, food flat out sucks. A... More

My wife and I met my sister-in-law for lunch and it was pretty good. After bread and dipping my wife started with a beet salad. Only problem is two small skimpy slices of beet. Needs to be re-named. Don't get it. She then had Raviolis with a nice sauce. Plate was clean. The in-law had tortellini and she enjoyed it.... More

I should probably say this place is terrible so I can get a table any time I want, but that would be a lie. The food is outstanding and the waitstaff is usually great. This is one of our favorite places in Sarasota (we eat there about twice a month). The Osso Buco is delish and the Frizzante is the... More

On our last night in Sarasota, my husband picked Caraguilo. Great choice. Our waitperson, Gulie, was both helpful and honest. The duck I ordered was one of the best I've ever had--crispy, not fatty, not an underdone breast. Instead it was two legs perfectly rendered. The cherry glaze I had served on the side was so so, but good enough.... More

Ate here last year and was happy, this year still happy. Easy, comfortable and consistent. Ordered salmon rare and it came perfectly finished. My husband had pizza one night, was excellent. Their chicken parm was also very good. Only take reservations for 6 or more. Street parking can be a little tricky but not impossible. The staff is friendly, helpful... More

I dined with a group, each with different dietary needs. The very friendly waitress made sure that each of us was accommodated. She told me which dishes were gluten free, and was able to get me gluten free pasta. Another guest was vegetarian. She was able to tell the guests which dishes appeared to be vegetarian, but were not, &... More
