Must eat at Salty Dog

We never miss eating here while at SK. Love the atmosphere and the food is very good. Our service was outstanding. Only did not care for the Dog's take on a Pina Colada it was like drinking whole cream, not icy cold and a bit too rich - but that is just my taste. You must go and eat as... read more

I don't like giving bad reviews based solely on my meal because other people in my party liked their dish. What I will tell you, is that the famous 'Salty Dog' loaded hot dog was NOT that good. I guess I got a picture out of it at least. Our server was very friendly accommodating.

Decided to try The Old Salty Dog on a family trip to the beach at Siesta Key. The first thing I noticed is that parking was very limited but this is a theme on the island. We got the oysters and a lunch entree each and while the food was good, I really thought it was just average. The oysters... More

This is definetly for a younger crowd who may want to find fellow kids who don't care about quality, price or cleanliness. Food was below average bar food. Fried and tasteless. Frozen marquarita was the worst, ice chunks and maybe not tequila. Service although friendly made several errors. One of our dishes was incorrect and went back. But then when... More

Called ahead of time and was seated promptly at 6:30 PM. Waiter showed up 15 minutes later and with an ego the size of Manhattan (sorry Patrick) stated he would take amazing care of us. 15 minutes later and still no drinks prompted a request from me to Patrick to secure our drinks. He looked at me as if I... More

Been coming here for years each time we vacation. Not the healthiest food, but you get the beachy feel. Kind of bar food'ish, but it is good and the service generally is sufficient. For our family it's mostly a tradition at this point, but we always enjoy it.

We ate at the Old Salty Dog. The food was excellent. My husband and son ordered the Salty Dog which is a deep fried hot dog. They both said it was really good and really salty! My daughter and I had the fried fish & fries which was outstanding! Would recommend dining there!

Average fried food served quickly. The Restruant has just 10 parking spaces, so you will need to allow time to find parking.

My wife and I ate here while on vacation. The lobster is what ended up drawing us here. They had a lobster dinner special that was uncontested anywhere around. The meal was prepared perfectly and tested amazing. There were also a lot of families with small children there aswell. All of the food looked really good. The staff were very... More

There was a group of four of us for dinner and it was a weeknight. They had a key lime coloda which was excellent, and the food was good but nothing exceptional. The service seemed a bit chaotic, as if they were short staffed because the host also had to bus a table for us and they forgot to assign... More
