Good food, keke coladas and great service!

My wife, our kids and grandkids went to the old salty dog today for the first time. The peel and eat shrimps are to die for! Kelly was our server and she promptly came to the table and introduced us to the keke colada which in our opinion is one of the best drinks on the key. She answered any... read more

My wife and I ate here while on vacation. The lobster is what ended up drawing us here. They had a lobster dinner special that was uncontested anywhere around. The meal was prepared perfectly and tested amazing. There were also a lot of families with small children there aswell. All of the food looked really good. The staff were very... More

There was a group of four of us for dinner and it was a weeknight. They had a key lime coloda which was excellent, and the food was good but nothing exceptional. The service seemed a bit chaotic, as if they were short staffed because the host also had to bus a table for us and they forgot to assign... More

They were out of the app we wanted, the one we did order was delayed because another server gave it to another table. Fish tacos were ok but wouldn't get them again...the flavoring although I usually like jerk flavoring didn't go well and the fries were burnt. Order the key lime colada...totally worth it. The server was attentive and place... More

My wife and I had early dinner on a week day. The place was crowded but service was prompt. My fish dish and my wife's spare ribs were both only fair dinners. The portions were enough but fish was dry/overdone and the ribs were tasty but not particularly tender. The wine by the glass was a good dry red.,,.. I... More

Fun atmosphere, by the beach, walkable, delicious food, family friendly. What more could I say…it's not to be missed!

Guinness on tap, and blackened grouper or mahi still make a perfect lunch just a short walk from the beach. The new thatched roof makes a good addition to the street level seating outdoors, and the upper bar deck is the place to keep an eye on it all.

We went to the salty dog once this vacation. We used to go there multiple times but due to my pending knee surgery walking was a problem and the distance form the village was a bit of a challenge. That being said we enjoyed the visit and food. Our server was Patrick who was very good at his job. We... More

Food was good and there was no wait to get in. Service was quick. Location good but longer walk from our hotel. There was not as much traffic though. Waitress was not the friendliest but did provide good service. Would go back.

We visited the Old Salty Dog on Longboat Key for Happy Hour last week. Since it was a weekday, it was not at all crowded, and we were able to sit at a high table with a view of the water. When the waitress came to take our order, I asked about happy hour specials, and she told me that... More
