Loved the seating outside, food was great. My husband got the conch fritters and I had chicken. The best part was the little home made dessert, the key lime pie was so good!!

Was looking for a hamburger and found one. The food was good but not great. Service a little slow for the number of customers but we would go there again.

That's right--I said salmon! In Florida! Salmon that has been marinated in bourbon for 24 hours before it is grilled to perfection....absolutely delicious. Yes, they are known for the deep fried, loaded hotdog, and it is good. But, I just returned from a trip to Seattle, where I had fresh salmon every day, once in a 5 star restaurant, I... More

I'd driven by this place quite a few times without stopping, having been burned on too many occasions at the OSD on Lido key. But when I finally did stop (tempted by an open parking place right in front), I was very pleasantly surprised. The food here is SO much better than the other OSD, it just amazed me. The... More

It has a good atmosphere and the Badger game was on. The bartender was a WI native so it was nice to be among friends :) when we were in Siesta Key. The food was typical bar food. They had good happy hour beer prices. I would recommend to stop here for a drink.

After a quick visit to Mote Marine, we walked across the street to The Old Salty Dog, drawn in by my love of bulldogs. They have fabulous seating that has a great view of the bay and the food was excellent. Against my normal choice I had the salty dog (somewhat like a corndog, but better) with cheese and onions.... We brought our dog and the management/owners loved it. Very accommodating and friendly staff. Was perfect to sit outside on the deck watch some NFL have a few beers and have our dog with us.

We've eaten at the Salty Dog on Longboat Key, across from Mote Marine Labs, quite a few times and found it to be very good. We decided to try the location in Siesta Key Village. We were disappointed. I ordered my usual fish and chips. My wife had a grouper sandwich, She did better than I did. Her sandwich was... More

Came across this restaurant a few years ago on the Travel Channel. After visiting, it’s now a must for me anytime I’m passing through Sarasota, even if it means taking a 10 mile detour off of I-75 to the City Island location. Though known for their hotdogs, the beer battered fish sandwich (Grouper) is my favorite with a side of... More

Effect is wearing off.Cant comment on the rest of the menu but it... More
