It catches your eye coming into Siesta Key. The kids had fish and chips and loved them. Can't remember what the wife had but she liked it as well. I had a Salty Dog - their claim to fame. It's a hot dog dipped in beer batter and fried, served on a bun with your choice of toppings. MAN VS... More

We went for dinner and had a really good time. The food was good and the service was very quick and pleasant. I am told the lunches are even better then the dinners. The fresh grouper and mahi were both done very well and the side dishes were a nice selection. Excellent location on the edge of the village.

Air conditioned inside... love it! Had the classic Old Salty Dog.. very cool. The food was average... Was hoping for a little more attention by our waitress.

Service great. Atmosphere great. Thats where it ends. Ordered peel n eat shrimp for app and they were pretty good. The cocktail sauce was good. Margarita was great. Then the entrees came. Fried shrimp was like the frozen kind you buy at the grocery. Coconut shrimp was also like the frozen kind. Fish tacos which came recommended by two people... More

Great location, with the restaurant jutting out into the water. As for the food, what a great location! Their specialty, the deep-fried hot dog, is about what you’d expect. The PEI mussels are less than what you’d expect, the flavors in the liquid harsh and warring. It seemed like they used some sort of oil instead of butter. Could that... More

We enjoyed our lunch here but were quite shocked at the prices. For 10 fried shrimp it was 20 bucks! Its a rather cute spot and they have dog water bowls on every table. You can bring your dog outside and the server will fill the bowl for them. Its a good concept if you want to bring your dog... More

Whenever we spend the day at the beach we have to end our evening at the Old Salty Dog. Love sitting outside. The crab dip is awesome and I always have the Grouper Sandwich. It's huge and tasty. The atmosphere is perfect since we are wet and sandy. Sitting outside under the huge ceiling fans is nice and cool. Yes,... More

We wanted to try this place after seeing it on Man vs. Food. The hotdogs were good, but nothing extraordinary about them. Many other patrons were ordering the fish. We might go again to give that a try next time we are in the area.

Popped in for a beer, tap beer was not cold. Asked for a frosted mug, they put the glass in the ice (a bar tenders NO NO). French fries very hot & tasty.

After seeing this on Food Network, I had to visit to try the salty dog hotdog. The view was speculator! The service was good and the food wasn't what I expected. It was average. I've been there and may or may not ever go again. $$.
