We went to the City Island Dog while we were in town. The kids loved the "DEATH DOG"(one with everything)and cheese sticks. I guess some might say it was a little exspensive but we were sitting on the water as the sun went down. The breeze was blowing in and the sunset was "Priceles". The Steamers are fantastice. We will be... more

We took a chance on the Salty Dog because it had parking in crowded Siesta Village, but sadly, it lived up to its name... a dog. The service was OK. The food was mediocre, but the portions were ridiculously small. My four-year-old grandson got the chicken finger basket for kids and it was one chicken strip cut into four pieces... more

Very overrated. The scallops were so buttery that there was no taste to them but butter(To their credit they did take off half the price of the meal). The portion size of the clam strips & dog bites was small compared to the price. The highlight was the crab dip which was out of this world delicious. I would rate... more

I had the best Pina Colada that I have ever tasted here, it was a Key Lime Pina Colada. It was a drink special that night so they may not have it all the time. Food wise I had blackened Tuna and potatoes, delicious for both. I also had the Clam Chowder and it was just ok, but I am... more

If you want a good place to go for lunch on a sunny day for a no fuss old Florida style place outside dock dining and I mean outside dock. Put on your jeans or shorts have a cold beer, a grouper sandwich(it's a good size) and watch the birds in the bay and remember old florida Jimmy Buffet style.... more

Decent food, but tiny portions terribly overpriced meals make it a place I'd never want to go to again. $6 for a slice of pie, are you kidding me? Remember to ask how many pieces you get when you order something too. I found a few items on the menu that neglected to mention how much you get. Turns out... more

Having been to both of the salty dog's Siesta Key is the better of the two, if you like fish then I can't comment on that as I don't like it, for someone like me there isn't much choice its chicken or ribs, both are tasteless and not worth the price. more

Yeah, I confess, I always have to stop at Old Salty on Siesta Key when Im on the gulf coast! Its definitely a throw-back to the 50's, when ALL Florida eateries along the beach roads were like this place, serving fried fish & chips, smoked mullet, hot dogs, burgers and lotsa beer. Did I mention that hardly anyplace had air-conditioning?... more

We were really disappointed. The food was below average for the price. I could only recommend the fish and chips. The hot dog was terrible. The vegetables that came with my coconut shrimp were very tasteless. Too much money for terrible food. Thank God for Pepto Bismal!! more
