This is a decent spot for breakfast. The location and atmosphere are nice. However I feel like the food is far to greasy for my liking and they use too much cheese.

Wonderful food in a great little place in downtown Sarasota. They have outdoor seating. After lunch we picked up several items from inside at the bakery to take home with us.

While visiting our daughter and her family ... our oldest grandson went for his drivers permit that morning...so we decided to celebrate with lunch together... they had just returned from their vacation in Europe so they chose to have lunch at C'est La Vie and Authentic French Bakery & Cafe... I ordered the Quiche Lorraine served with a wonderful cold... More

The crepes, the quiche, the salads (The Briard!!!) are awesome. The desert selection is dangerous, in a great way. But, parking is limited, service is slow and the space is very tight. So don't go if you are in a rush. It is a leisurely place. Cafe au lait is a must.

Delicious croissants, the best black coffee ever and friendly attentive servers. The brie was creamy melt in your mouth and the salads crisp, fresh and delicious. Pick your favorite "toasted" sandwich and you won't be disappointed. The bakery choices are exquisite works of ART (do you think they have art students from Ringling College of Art and Design moonlighting here?)... More

I go to Sarasota often. I never miss going here, sitting outside and having breakfast . There are a lot of breakfast places in Sarasota that are quite good. But I like the French flair of this place. Love the crepes, love the eggs, love the potatoes, love the pastries. Love everything about this place.

Great patisserie, who cares if they are rude, all French people are rude, rudeness is their national sport. Awesome baking. It's what's on the plate that counts!

We talked about this place with our tour guide in Normandy (!), who knew Sarasota well. 'It's almost like real French bread' he told us, and he was right. The cafe behind the bakery is always busy, and is a good spot for a soup/sandwich/salad lunch. The owners and some of the staff even speak French.

The omelets are wonderful...and healthy! The almond croissant is my favorite guilty pleasure. The café au lait is awesome as well. We LOVE the staff here!

I was told that after my $30 pastry purchase I could not sit inside or out! 15 empty tables and well after lunch time. I believe it was the owner herself who gives the French a bad reputation. I'm taking my taste buds to Epicure from now on.
