Description: Family-owned and operated for over 110 years, Columbia has earned acclaim...
Family-owned and operated for over 110 years, Columbia has earned acclaim for its old-world charm and award-winning Spanish/Cuban cuisine and wine list. Join us for century-old family recipes like Paella "a la Valenciana," Filet Mignon "Columbia," and fresh seafood specialties. Don't miss Columbia's Original "1905" Salad(R), prepared tableside with our delicious, freshly-made dressing, a 100-year-old family recipe of fresh garlic, oregano, wine vinegar and Spanish extra virgin olive oil. Be sure to sample a fine Spanish wine like Torres, Montecillo or Campillo. Relax outdoors on our patio, or inside our Mediterranean-style dining rooms filled with hand-painted tiles and family heirlooms. We are a sister to the Columbia in Tampa's Ybor City, founded in 1905. Children's menu available. Open 365-days a year, including all holidays.

You just can't go wrong with the food at the Columbia. Genuine Cuban food is served in the most appetizing way possible. The 1905 salad is famous, and for good reason -- it tastes delicious! Because of the amount of this salad served, the Columbia is the world's greatest consumer of Worchestershire sauce -- one of the classic ingredients in... More

Daughter and her family visiting from Georgia, son visiting from St. Pete so I drove from 85 miles away to join them for lunch. All of us have lived in Tampa and been customers of the original Ybor City Columbia for many years. Food is mostly pretty consistent, with some exceptions. The black bean soup had little flavor, the kitchen... More

Best place in Sarasota I've found for my go to favorite cuban meal - palomilla thin steak with lots of raw onion, & cilantro, white rice & black beans & boiled yucca. Tried the sangria once, it was good. Love the bread & butter - dangerous because I can eat the whole thing :/ Pretty noisy, fun for group. Service... More

My wife and I had dinner twice at Columbia and each time the dinner and service was excellent. Columbia has a great Cuban style.

Columbia- at Armand's circle in Sarasota, the place is busy whatever time of day you go. The menu is diverse and original. Cuban food at its finest! Surprisingly affordable. I go everytime I'm in Sarasote.

This is a beautiful location. The service was okay. I asked for the gluten free menu and was advised they did not have one. So we both chose the daily special of paella. We were asked if we would like bread, I asked if they had any gf and was advised they did not. The waiter then brought over freshly... More

We do have a gluten-free menu that your server should have shared with you. Unfortunately we do not have gluten-free bread. Six of us went to Columbia for an early dinner after a matinee. They weren't too busy yet, but service was marginal. When we finished drinks, the waiter never asked if we'd like another. The shrimp, crab, and artichoke tapas had little shrimp or crab. The red wine sangria was watered down when it arrived, although the white was good.... More

As a foodie and a bit of a restaurant "snob", I was quite surprised by reading some negative comments of this establishment. But enough of that, here is my interpretation. The food was top notch. Starting with the hot crisp Cuban bread, soft on the inside. Their famous 1905 salad is delicious, and filling with the bread so beware! I... More

The Colombia in Sarasota is a poor representative of the "chain". It's packed with tourists, or people who think Red Libster is good, and it shows. Service is perfunctory andthe food is simply not good especially not by the standards of the other restaurants. The area has much more to offer. Hopefully, you didn't eat here and stay at Holiday...
