This is probably the best restaurant in Sarasota. Being 23 it is a little "old" for me even with the new interior, but in the end it is all about the food. Their steaks are some of the best one will find anywhere. The Pepper steak is accompanied by an absolutel heavenly sauce, the Rib-eye melts in your mouth and flavor bursts your taste buds. We make a point of eating at the Bijou every time we come to Sarasota. The Salad Melange is fantastic, as are the crab cakes. Service has always been prompt and polite. more

Bijou Cafe is a Sarasota treasure for great dining all around. My fiance, mother and I had never eaten there before but now we will come back as often as possible. Dinner here is a gem. We have eaten at The Bijou Cafe a number of times, recently on 7/20/06. The food is EXCELLENT and the service is GREAT!!! Ordered pepper steak which was sent back 3 times, the first two times the meat was not cooked, it was cold and full of tendons...the third time was a charm but who had the stomach to eat anymore...when we asked for a candle on any kind of dessert to be brought out to celebrate a birthday, arranged ahead of time...this... more
