A friend told us about Captain Brian's so went went for dinner. My wife had the combo platter that consisted of a piece of Grouper, several scallops, shrimp and a crab cake. Everything was very fresh and delicious except for the crab cake. It was mushy and not great. I had their Lobster special $17.95. One can't ruin a good... More

Nothing fancy....but from the moment you step onto Capt Brian's you just know a great seafood meal is coming. We first visited the market and "eyeballed" all the varieties of fish...then it was easy to decide our meal. All the fish is fresh....and prepared blackened, broiled, or fried. And cooked to perfection. From time to time...look for the 2 pound... More

Nothing fancy, but good food and excellent service for a very reasonable price. The crab cakes were excellent -- almost no filler and lightly seasoned, so the crab is really the star. The cobia (which I had grilled) was delicious and the sauteed spinach was fresh and not over-cooked. Easy to find, right next to the airport. Nice, relaxed visit.... More

Just had to go to Captain Brian's. Called in ahead and asked about the whole bellied New England clams and their size. They said they were running small and sweet. They were absolutely right. Great portion came with wedge fried potatoes and their sweet fresh coleslaw. Lunch price was $11.95 but that changes with each shipment depending on the market... More

I love, love their fried oysters, fried clams and love the broiled scallops! All type of fish n' seafood is cooked n' prepared just right,...this is a seafood haven! There is not a lot of space, however, I have never been disappointed at this little place.

This was our 2nd time to Captain Brian's. My husband and I (30's) really enjoy this restaurant. The seafood is fresh, the prices are affordable and reasonable for what you buy. Its a nice little family type restaurant with friendly staff and a very common dining place for the locals. When I walked in the 1st time, I thought, where... More

The decorating leaves something to be desired, but the food is worth it and the fish tank is nice to look at. I got steamed mussels and they brought out a huge plate. It was great. My husband had lobster and his was also good. Everything seemed fresh.

Started eating here back in the mid 1990's when the restaurant was 1/2 its current size. I remember the long waiting lines for lunch but was worthwhile because the fish was always fresh and cooked to perfection. Not to mention very reasonable prices. Over the years, with the growth of Sarasota and the introduction of restaurants too numerous to mention,... More

This is only a restaurant, not a bar. Along with the food they only serve beer and wine, no cocktails. They do not honor cupons offered by the See Sarasota Insider's Guide to Florida.

My husband and I ate at Captain Brian's Seafood Market last Saturday. The food was great, as it has been every time we have visited them. I had Boston Scrod, and it was simply wonderful. It did not have a thick, oily coat of batter on it, just a nice, light one, and the fish itself was moist, flaky, and... More
