Turned out we loved this local place. Upon walking in, we got the feel this was a local favorite spot. Been around for many years and lots of regular guest dined along with us. Salad bar was loaded with options to build your own salad or a few were prepared as well. Coleslaw, potato salad, pasta... read more

Have eaten here many times being a local resident. Seafood is outstanding!! Lunch or dinner is a real treat. Capt Brian is usually there. Don't miss when he makes the alderwood smoked salmon. Delicious!!

Went here first time, looked interesting and went pretty well. It wasn't too busy when we went (5 o'clock on a Friday) and seating was prompt and service was quick. The seafood chowder was delicious, I would highly recommend. The lobster was bland and tasted kind of like water, and the oysters were pretty good but not the best. Another... More

My last review made so happy to find this place. Second visit not so great. I ordered the stuffed sole. I started to eat it from the outside in. The fish was fine but than I broke into the crab stuffing and smelled the Ammonia. It was very strong. For those who don't know this means the seafood has gone... More

Captain Brian's is a fabulous stop in the Bradenton/Sarasota area. The seafood is always delicious and most of all -- fresh. It has an old Florida charm that is warm and inviting. They have revamped the salad bar and improved it significantly. You just can't go wrong stopping at Captain Brian's for lunch or dinner.

Lunch was great !! Fried oysters and clam strips were wonderful. Flounder very good too ! Also the spicy chowder - YUM ! Busy but not the usual winter scene (yeah) so seating easy. Our server was very friendly and attentive.

Has a nice little salad bar that is included with all dinners. Lobster meals are good but the lobsters are getting smaller and smaller

Our first time eating here. I read the reviews and thought I would give it a try. Fresh doesn't always mean good. The fried clams basket, while fresh whole clams, were not cleaned properly. They were borderline inedible. The seafood chowder tasted like canned soup. The server said it was totally fresh and homemade. Then I saw a bus boy... More

Captain Brian's sells fresh fish and seafood, and serves large portions that are well prepared and moderately priced. Their blackened yellow fin tuna is the best I've ever tasted (you don't need a knife). They also have a wonderful salad bar, with all the usual salad things, plus herring, crackers, and such. I've had some of my best meals (ever)... More

Service was good ( new server). She was very sweet, attentive and helpful. We had a plane to catch so the proximity to the airport was great.
