I had the pleasure of speaking with the owner of this establishment a few days ago when I popped in to pick up some sourdough bread. The place is quite small but what they have all looks fantastic and the friendliness of the owner and staff is quite impressive. He had just put some sourdough bread away but I was... More

A little "something something" from Jim's! We went away on Friday night and forgot to "pack" our Jim's for the weekend - Best ding dang bagels in town, best almond croissants, best key lime kiss - OH MY, THE CHOICES! The breads are a staple in our house and, of course, I can't forget my all time favorite "Ali Muffin".... More

It's good but it's only a bakery and the selections are somewhat limited. It's not a restaurant at all. why is it listed as the #1 restaurant. It's the #1 bakery in Sarasota, but folks. remember this is Sarasota

Good things come in small packages! Our family visited Sarasota on vacation. I repeatedly heard people mention this bakery, and the Fact that you could not choose anything that wouldn't make you want to turn around and order another. It was true, YUM! Although there wasn't a huge selection, (hence the name) there is something for everyone. The owners were... More

My brother had been insisting for weeks that I have lunch with him at Jim's, so last week we finally went. I had the candied bacon BLT (amazing) and we split a walnut bar and a layer bar (both very good). My brother also picked up a fresh loaf of challah bread, which was about half gone by the time... Off the beaten track, in the getting trendy, Gulf Gate area of Sarasota, is Small Batch. It is worth the trip to find this tiny place with delicious treasures. I have been going there since it opened a couple of years ago. With some places, the quality deteriorates after a while, but Jim has kept up his high quality. Everything... More

I just came from Jim's with an assortment of goodies. First one down was the carrot cake. Oh my! So moist and delicious. The frosting was the best...not too sweet, but so creamy. Lots of carrot and nuts. Excellent. I will try to be reasonable with the rest of my stash, but no promises. Everything looks so good; I know... More

Jim's Small Batch Bakery might be small in size but it is huge in flavor. It is difficult to pinpoint a special item as everything we've tried is so mouthwatering great. Tucked in a small corner on Gulf Gate just a couple doors down from Mama Mia Italian eatery - this place is not a spot to be missed as... More
