Cuisines: Coffee Shop, Ice Cream
Dining options: Late Night
Description: This old fashioned, family owned coffee and ice cream shop is located in Captain Curt's Village a few hundred yards south of the Stickney point (south bridge). It is beside the bike and kayak rental shop. They are super friendly and have a gourmet coffee bar, fresh baked goods and 26 flavors of hand churned, homemade ice cream. It is my favorite local coffee shop! I've never left disappointed.

This place is really nice to go to because it is in walking distance of most condos and hotels near by. The ice cream/ coffee shop has so many fun flavors to choose from! The service was pleasant and helped us with a smile :) (by the way the cotton candy ice cream is awesome :)

There are three great places for some iced sweets on Siesta Key. This stands alone toward the South side of the key and you cannot go wrong. Great service, huge scoops - you only need one - and very high quality. I had not been here for several years and did not realize they now have indoor seating which is... More

If you stay on Siesta Key, and go to Captain Curt's or Sniki TIki, don't forget to go to the Orange Octopus for some delicious ice cream. I had my pineapple orange ice cream whipped into a milkshake. WOW!

I just discovered this ice cream parlor on Siesta Key today. What a fantastic place. The ice cream is great, but the hot fudge is to die for! For good old fashioned fattening ice cream, this is the place to go.

The ice cream was very tasty, the 1 scoop cup is enough even if you usually eat a lot. The staff is very polite and welcoming. There is plenty of choice for the flavors. A place not to be missed.

Great place to go for ice cream on Siesta Key! I had the Butter Pecan and my wife had the Salted Carmel Ice Cream. Every time we come down to Siesta Key we always have to stop in (at least once).

Great place - many many flavors - they make homemade waffles cones right there - ice cream very creamy and lots of flavors - there is an area for many tables and chairs if you wish to escape the heat and eat inside. HUGE scoops!!!

Like many other things in this great country, American ice cream is a bit over the top, packed with all sorts of flavors, nuts, fudges, ... and far from the much more simple Italian gelato, but if you like that (too) the one served at The Orange Octopus is fabulous. We have tried a few of the other ice cream... More

There are plenty of good ice cream parlors in the Sarasota area to help residents and tourists get relief from the 90-degree heat in June and July. Kilwin's and Big Olaf's are two of the best and most successful. But don't forget the Orange Octopus, which has been doing business under one owner or another and one name or another... More
