Happy Hour at an Interesting and Innovative New Restaurant

My husband and I recently stopped in at Darwin's on 4th for Happy Hour. This quaint restaurant is located in a district with other interesting and trendy restaurants nearby. Happy Hour is offered at the bar and in the bar area adjacent. When we arrived it was quite busy, so the hostess suggested we... read more

My wife & I thoroughly enjoyed our dinner experience this past Sunday night in downtown Sarasota. Too often we have fallen in the tourist trap of poor bland food - but not at Darwin's. Darwin's takes the bold leap into true unique flavors and food combinations. Their Classico Ceviche is a perfect example. Simply delicious. We also enjoyed their Chorizo... More

A Pisco sour and sampler of ceviche, tuna, and octopus reminded me of my time in Peru. Served with large kernels of Peruvian corn and corn nuts, the medley was perfectly prepared and delicious. The colorful decor, good service, and upbeat ambience contributed to a wonderful dining experience, our best in Sarasota.

Second time at Darwin's. The first was memorable because of the AMAZING food and atmosphere! The second was memorable because the band was so horribly loud it was impossible to hold a conversation over our once again outstanding dinner. What a shame our experience was ruined. Love the place but they need to decide if they're a bar or a... More

We were in Sarasota for a long weekend visiting family and this is one of the places that we went for dinner. It is a pretty restaurant but too dark and a bit noisy. I ordered the poached lobster taco for an appetizer. Who could see what was in it besides lobster but it was tasty and delicate. My entree... More

We visited this restaurant three times in 2013 when we were vacating in Sarasota from the Uk. The food although expensive was very good indeed hence why we visited several times. However this year we are staying in the St Petes area and decided to travel the 45 miles to visit this restaurant again,we thought it would be worth the... More

One of my favorite restaurants in Sarasota, I've eaten in the dining room several times and have also enjoyed the bar area for tapas and their excellent beer. Jorge is the brewmaster and if you have never been here try a flight of beers, you will not be disappointed. Darwin's food is exquisite, full of flavor and the presentation is... More

The place was popular and packed. I hear the food is good but won't go back. Both times there I was over charged for my drink bill. The first time I let it slide . The second time I found I was charged top shelf process for drinks That we didn't have. When asking for it to be corrected I... More

Darwin’s on 4th is cool. It’s just three minutes off the Tamiami Trail (41) and very easy to find. When you turn in, there is a great sense of arrival: you see the authentic red brick building covered with climbing vines. Parking near the entrance may be full, but there is more parking just down the alley. Up two stone... More

If you live in Sarasota or plan to visit this beautiful city on vacation, be sure to plan to have dinner at Darwin's on 4th. My wife and I have been coming to Sarasota since 2006 and have been impressed with the outstanding restaurants here. None better than Darwin's. Darwin is from Peru and the flavors are Peruvian infusion...Even before... More
