Description: Big Water Fish Market opened its doors on 11/11/11 at 11am with owner Scott Dolan at the helm. We are near the south bridge on Siesta Key in the Crescent Beach Shopping Center next to Siesta Spirits liquor store. We are a retail fish market that specializes in fresh, wild, Florida seafood and we also offer a simple but delicious casual dining menu. We were voted "Best Grouper Sandwich" on the island in 2013 and we serve fresh, made-to-order meals until 6:45pm on weekdays and until 6:00pm on Saturdays and it's always BYOB! Come in and try a Seafood Steampot with crab legs, shrimp, clams, mussels, potatoes and corn on the cobb or any of our other great selections. We offer our customers the freshest fish, seafood, and produce available in a clean boutique style market. In addition, we carry a variety of specialty spices, sauces, and products to compliment your seafood. If you ever want something that we don't have in stock, just let us know and we will make some calls. In most cases we can get it to you the next day. Whether you live here or you're visiting beautiful Siesta Key, please visit the Big Water Fish Market for all your FRESH seafood needs!

I think we used TA for this place, even some of the folks who live around here didn't know about it, maybe it's a tourist place, but I doubt it. The decor is not the place you'd want to propose at, two simple outdoor picnic tables that have been covered with peoples writings. Not a place not he wall left... More

Thank you for taking the time to write a review for us. You are correct...not what most would call a romantic spot but absolutely a casual & fun place to enjoy delicious seafood and I'm happy you enjoyed your choices! We do sell fresh fish to take home in addition to our made-to-order meals and are always happy to provide... More

Had fish sandwiches for lunch which were cooked to perfection and very fresh. We also bought some fresh red snapper which we had for dinner that night. The fish again was extremely fresh, I think caught that morning. Will go back again and again.

I frequent Big water for purchasing un cooked, fresh fish. It does have 2 or 3 picnic like tables inside store and there are however limited, prepared, tasty treats to go BUT not a "restaurant" by my definition. The prepared salads etc. that I have tried have been delicious. The Key Lime Pie to go, is fantastic

Thank you for your review! We are definitely a fish market first but unfortunately TripAdvisor didn't have a category for that. We provide a great lunch menu and steampots during the evening in a very casual setting which fits the casual island way of life here. I'm happy you enjoyed all of your selections and look forward to seeing you... More

I bought some Chilean sea bass which was so delicious…the store owner was very knowledgeable and helpful. Every piece of fish there looked so fresh and it was hard to choose. Would highly recommend to fish loving travelers.

Steam Pot Dinner includes very generous portions of snow crab, muscles, shrimp, potatoes, brussel sprouts, corn on the cob. $30.00. Bring your own drinks. Fun casual dinner setting. Limited seating -- two picnic tables indoors. We will be back again next year for a fantastic steam pot dinner!

Owner and staff were great. The fish was very fresh and prepared excellently. They have the best grilled grouper I have had in years.

Best grouper sandwich in Sarasota. Perfectly grilled with spring mix, tomato, and their homemade tartar sauce. We tried many grouper sandwiches in the area and Big Water is definitely the best.

The food here is excellent. A little over cooking can ruin seafood but ours was cooked perfectly. We had grilled grouper and the crab cake sandwiches with pickle spear and a small side of potato salad. With water as our beverage the bill without tip was $25.68. Considering the average portion size, I consider the cost on the pricey side... More

Am headed back down to the Sarasota area and one of my recent finds is the Big Water fish Market in Siesta Keys. I need to have a local fish market to go to wherever I am.
