Quality Food, for sure

Went for lunch. Was promptly greeted, seated and attended to. The lunch menu is a little smaller, cheaper and still extremely good. We started with Shrimp Cocktail and Clam chowder. I arrived about 6:20 and went to the bar area. It was almost full. I was greeted by a lovely young lady named Sam. She was very pleasant and took my drink order. After it arrived I went to the hostess stand. I stated that I was at the bar and would need a table for 2 in about 40... More

We were amazed with the combo oyster appetizer. We prefer raw, but tried this one and was not disappointed. The Orleans were the best, then Rockefellers were next best. The Royal Reds shrimp were OK but not fabulous and the Pot Pie was not that great. It only had a bread crust on top and the seafood was skimpy. The... More

nice atmosphere, pleasant staff. Food was good, especially the oysters! The filet mignon was the most tender I'd ever had. It had been a while since we went and I got so busy with work that I forgot to review it, but I haven't stopped thinking that we need to go again since it was so good the first time.... More

Visited Half Shell last week and was delighted to be greeted at the door with an open door and a "HOW ARE YOU TONIGHT?" upon arriving. Ordered a fresh Martini and POW! it was awesome! I ordered the Roasted Oysters Louisiana Style and was delighted with the taste and seasoning.... it came with bread to soak up the delicate juices.... More

Eleven of us stopped in for a birthday celebration. This restaurant was chosen by the birthday boy and we had never been here. We were pleasantly surprised! Food was delicious and my wife and I are not big seafood lovers. We sampled the oysters Rockefeller, raw oysters, breaded oysters, giant shrimp, Cajun shrimp, crab cakes, filet mignon, shrimp po-boy and... More

Dropped into the Half Shell Seafood House for dinner with my wife while on a short trip to Sarasota. The restaurant is located on University Parkway almost at the intersection with I-75 (ex 213) and more or less opposite the new UTC shopping mall. This is a very casual place serving all kinds of seafood cooked all kinds of ways... More

This was my second time eating at Half Shell Oyster House. The first time was better then this experience. First, one of the people had oysters on the half shell and they were large and looked great. However, the fish tacos with blackened grouper was not good at all. The grouper was not blackened but breaded. The sauce was good... More
