We found everything just O.K. The food was uninspiring - although true to the claim of local. The service was unacceptable. There was an attitude here of superiority that was certainly not matched by the menu or atmosphere. The prices, however, were definitely

Wonderful gem of a restaurant for special occasions or just a nice night out. Lovely restaurant in charming part of Sarasota. Service was very pleasant and everything we ordered was delicious though I felt a bit pricey. Do not miss the shaved brussel sprouts appetizer! Will definitely be back!

We had been planning our 2 week trip to Florida for some time and after deciding upon Siesta Keys for a week of this, we almost immediately after wanted to visit Sarasota simply to eat here. We were not disappointed!!! The food is beautiful; having chosen the Sturgeon with my wife going for the Shrimp both meals left a pleasant... More

My S.O. and I enjoyed another fabulous meal at one of our favorites - Indigenous. First, the decor and ambience is spot on as well as the low-key music. You feel relaxed as soon as you enter. We shared the Parmesan Beignets as an appetizer. These offer a delicious little packet of flavor with a hit of both savory and... More

We were seated at the entrance to the restaurant- literally the first table for 2 in the place. Every time the front door opened, my husband was elbowed in the head by patrons entering or exiting... We didn't have a reservation, so we dealt with that.. no problem... However, our server, the blond girl wearing black capris and grey running... More

Reserve an outside table. Trust me, I'm a doctor. Ask the server about recommendations as the menu changes daily. Order wine and enjoy the experience in a quaint neighborhood with this spectacular restaurant. Start with the shaved brussel sprouts. Yea, I know, sounds like no big deal, but they taste like an upscale Caesar salad with a kick. I had... More

Without having a culinary background I'm going to do my best to explain our impressions of last night's dinner. This was our 3rd visit to Indigenous. The menu is very limited with approximately 5 starters and 5 entrees. I believe the menu changes 4 times a year. Because my husband doesn't eat fish, his choices were a hamburger or braised... More

We visited this superb restaurant recently, and had a fantastic experience. We had a lovely table outside, and our server Danielle was extremely helpful. The chef must be a genius as he appears to be able to make Brussel Sprouts taste yummy! We also ate pork belly, cobia with a Thai green curry sauce which was excellent, and the special... More

We have a custom of dining at Indigenous on our last night in Sarasota before returning North because we have found it to be the BEST of many excellent restaurants in that city. This year's visit only reinforced that opinion. The menu is tiny, tending toward seafood, but the creativity and incredible blending of flavors are unequaled in the area.... More
