The food we ordered was spectacular. However, the menu was a bit limited for non-adventurous eaters.
My wife and I have eaten here twice and have had exceptionally good food and service on both occasions. Most of the ingredients, including the seafood, are locally sourced and the chef is a master. The wine list is comprehensive and the atmosphere is casual and intimate . There is outdoor seating for those beautiful, warm Sarasota nights. Indigenous ranks... More
It couldn't get much better. A great Sarasota evening, outdoor dining in the courtyard in a quiet oasis of Sarasota. The spinach and brussel sprout appetizers different and so delicious. Although one of our friends found the mushroom soup a bit too salty, he never uses salt. Our flounder served with tasty sauces were cooked to perfection. Wine selection very... More
Had an amazing dinner there last weekend. Would recommend to everyone to try! Our server was knowledgable and attentive yet not intrusive. Loved the inventive menu. Thank you for a very nice experience.
Ate at Indigenous for the first time. Don't know why we waited! Setting is nice, service superb, food fantastic. There was nothing about it we did not like. The server was very careful about my food allergies, which is important to me. The menu is limited, but with food like this, who needs more! The beignets, offered as a starter,... More
Best food, best waiter, best chef (OK, I am a Tremont/Cleveland person and so is the chef and owner). Get a seat outside. Nice little porch, great wines. Try the wild mushroom soup! It's so good! My favorite place in Sarasota!
We've eaten here regularly since the restaurant opened in 2011. I hesitated earlier to post a comment because in the first year or so I felt the cooking and service had more potential than what I was actually experiencing. It was as if the chef thought that just producing local ingredients on the plate was enough, or when a "creative"... More
We loved the place. The fish was excellent. The beignets were scrumptious. The wine selection was good. The service was first rate.
First visit of hopefully many. The Red Snapper was excellent and so was the Cobia. Wild Mushroom Bisque is as tasty as I have had and the Shaved Brussel sprout salad was very different and delicious. Wine list is adequate and not exorbitant. Desserts were great we had Lavender Ice Cream, Olive Oil Lemon Cake and Apple, Strawberry Habanero Sorbet... More
Fish selection poor. Zero choices for anything LOCAL. The Cobia that was touted as Hook to fork was FARM raised. Side dishes Pork belly tasty.. and bisque soup over rated. Wine selection was good. Service good too
