Great ambience, with charm and good food and service!

What an unusual restaurant! If you want creative food, but not pretentious food, this is the place for you. In a lovely house with wonderful wood tables, you have an interesting menu. I finally got to indigenous. I've heard about for years but never tried it. The place is an old house turned into a dining experience. We had reservations on the porch but the weather was too cold so we moved inside. The food was fresh and delicious. I'll be a regular from now on.

We did not have reservations but were able to find a seat at the indoor bar, behind the main restaurant. The bartender was knowledgeable about the food and wine and was able to expertly steer us in the best direction to taste as much as we possibly could. The regular patrons we met at the bar were a good crowd,... More

Im shocked to see some peoples negative reviews. This is by far our favorite restaurant in Sarasota and has been since they opened. Perfect for my husband and I for our date nights out without the baby. Yes, the menu is limited but we like that. We always go with Hook to Fork or the Cobia which they have permanently... More

It has been a year and wanted to give indigenous another try. We thought is was good last time but not up to the level of recent reviews. We came away this time with the same impression. Good but not great. My wife had mushroom soup and a burger served on a brioche roll. The soup was good but light... More

We recently had the chance to eat at Indigenous and were very pleased. I took the advice of others and had the mushroom soup and the beignets which were delightful. The vegetarian dish was good but the vegetables were cut very small and overpowered by the strong taste of the sauce. It was a great couples environment as it is... More

Friends have raved about this quaint Sarasota gem , so we figured we'd give it a try with friends who had been there before. It was a beautiful evening and the seating on the front porch was unfortunately the highlight of our evening. The mistake we made was not reviewing the menu before we went to this locale. The menu... This was our second time here and while the pork belly Lo main is one of my absolute favorite dishes anywhere that's all that I can rave about. I ordered the burger which came out raw twice and my husband had the lamb which he liked but didn't Iove. We also got dessert which was average too.

always liked it but have not been there for months. went last night; we had raw brussel sprout salad and mushroom soup, both divine; sturgeon, shrimp and swordfish main courses were spectacular; Gooey Butter Cake for dessert, we all shared it, and really did not expect it to be so good. In summary, everything was far beyond expectations.....and it is... More

This restaurant has a very short and limited menu. Have eaten there twice recently and it appears that outside of the fish of the day, the menu does not change. Service is good and the food well prepared but don't go there looking to eat what you want -the other night they were out of one of their "signature fish"... More
