A warm welcome to Dolce Italia, celebrating our fourth anniversary. Four years ago we opened with the dream of creating a little gathering place to enjoy good food and good company. You have helped us realize our dream, and we wish to thank you by providing our very best hospitality, ambiance and flavor. We came here from Ischia, Italy to share our passion for creating wholesome Italian Cuisine from our own family traditions. In return, you made us feel like a part of a big happy family here, so we don't miss our Ischia so much. My father created the sculpture of the enchanted Castle Aragonese on our wall to remind us of the beautiful place we were born and raised. Over the last four years, our dreams have come true. We remember each of our customers with fondness, we enjoy every evening that you spend with us, and we feel very lucky to have such a wonderful family of patrons. Delightful small Italian

The specials are all very good. Most of the Pasta dishes have too much cheese in the red sauces. Overall its very good, but a little pricey for the genre.

My wife and I had dinner here tonight. Reasonable bottle of cabernet (31) from Italy, appetizer of burrata (?) - really nice cheeses. Main courses of lamb meatball with papardelle, while I had Trenne Dolce Italia. Both were outstanding. The latter was really rich and filling. The former was very flavorful, both the lamb meatball and the pasta. Limencello cake... More

Our 4th visit. Always a great meal! We drive 25 min. to get there. Greeted by the owner as we walked in and his wife at the end. Fantastic Italian food!!! Beautiful new location. Well done with the décor! Small venue, so you must have reservations. May be tough to get in "in season". Call ahead!!! Lucky you if you... More

I spend the winter in Sarasota and eat Here at least once a week. Every meal is perfectly prepared. The owners are a wonderful couple from Naples Italy. Order one of their daily specials and you won't be disappointed. The Albanian

We had reservations for 8:30 but it was completely packed when we arrived. It seats about 50? The head waiter and owner were very apologetic that we had to wait and gave us a nice glass of wine on the house to drink while we waited. I ordered the Salmon Risotto and my husband had the Seafood Linguini. We thought... More

Driving to where the restaurant was located we were unsure whether we made a wise choice. After our meal we were very sure we made a very wise choice. We ordered off the specials and they were excellent. We all had a different dish and shared. The restaurant is about the food and it is Spartan yet comfortable and always... More

Answer: Try Dolce Italia! Looking for the best food you'd never find? If you are new to Sarasota or here temporarily to enjoy one of the beautiful local beaches, you might be craving a great dinner out. You won't find Dolce Italia in the center of town or by the beach. However, it is well worth seeking it out in... More

This place is fabulous. The owners are always welcoming and courteous, as though you'd come to visit their home. They are rightfully proud of their offerings and enjoy sharing their knowledge of food and wine with their guests. The food is exceptionally good and unmarred by "Americanization". They are located in the Gulf Gate area (home to several hidden gems... More
