A warm welcome to Dolce Italia, celebrating our fourth anniversary. Four years ago we opened with the dream of creating a little gathering place to enjoy good food and good company. You have helped us realize our dream, and we wish to thank you by providing our very best hospitality, ambiance and flavor. We came here from Ischia, Italy to share our passion for creating wholesome Italian Cuisine from our own family traditions. In return, you made us feel like a part of a big happy family here, so we don't miss our Ischia so much. My father created the sculpture of the enchanted Castle Aragonese on our wall to remind us of the beautiful place we were born and raised. Over the last four years, our dreams have come true. We remember each of our customers with fondness, we enjoy every evening that you spend with us, and we feel very lucky to have such a wonderful family of patrons. Another exceptional meal.

This was my second visit to Dolce Italia. Once again, the food was exceptional and the owners were delightful. I had an arugula salad, linguine and clams (white sauce), and vanilla gelato with espresso. All were excellent. I will eat here every time I visit Siesta Key. You must make a... read more

We travelled from Venice to meet another couple from Palmetto. Food was decent but not great. Main problem was the noise level, especially from a nearby table, made the experience painful. It was impossible to carry on a conversation. We will not be back.

We dined at this intimate restaurant with another couple who obviously are frequent diners here. We had reservations and were treated very graciously and received prompt service. The food was excellent. I had a penne dish with a spicy red sauce. It reminded me of a dish I have made at home.

Reservations a must because this is a small restaurant. The food was light and fresh and delicious. One of our best meals in Sarasota and hope to return before we leave.

Friends told us the chalkboard was "chalk full" of enough dinner ideas that we didn't need to see the menu. Spot on! Our server, Pippo, was a delight. Our meal started with the eggplant appetizer...possibly the best eggplant I could have expected. Pasta is king (naturally) and we each ordered off the board. I opted for a seafood pasta loaded... We loved the decor, but the food was so average that we should have gone to a local pizza shop, veal was almost flavorless, bread came from Publix, lasagna was soupy.

Went for dinner on Wednesday night. Arrived to be told wait what a s 40 minutes because we didn't have a reservation. Website didn't even indicate reservations could be made. Well, we waited and after 40 minutes were seated. My chicken Bianca was ok. Fairly mild flavor, nothing special. Salad side was small and only dressing was oill and vinegar.... More

We have dined at Dolce several times in the past year and have never been disappointed. Excellence all around at every level. The veal dishes are fantastic as are all the dishes with home made pastas. Long wine list is a big plus. The owners are always close by watching that everything goes perfect. Great gem of s restaurant in... More

Visited for the first time and we were definitely pleased. The food was fresh and perfectly prepared. The owners made us feel like we were family. This is the kind of Italian food that my mother and grandmother cooked. The sauce was wonderful. We will return shortly!

This is a small family-run restaurant. We have been there more than five times. Simple, but delicious Italian food is served. Most patrons seem to order from the specials listed on a blackboard and which do not seem to change often. We have tried most of them and they were all good. The wine list includes good wines at reasonable... More
