After enjoying a wonderful evening at Dolce Italia last year during our annual visit to Sarasota, my family and I looked forward to returning for another taste of Italy -- a la Florida. As a party of seven this time, we each chose different appetizers/salads, entrees, and desserts -- many from the list of specials. Each one was magnificent. That... More

Accidentally found this place while vacationing at Siesta Key. Best Italian since being in Rome. Great home made pasta. Husband and wife team from Italy. Wife's family recipes. Went twice in one week vacation.

What a great restaurant, just like in italia, small, intimate and the food is excellent. You have to make a reservation even on on Monday night, last year we showed up without a reservation and there was no room, but this time we did make one. We were greeted by PiPo (Philippo) and what a great person, he has a... More

My family and I went for dinner and were impressed. The pasta dishes are authentic with a varied menu of chef specials. We ordered several of the daily specials and the food was great. The only down side is the small space, so make a reservation. ( They will be moving to a larger location soon) The food is good... More

The atmosphere is nice, the pasta dishes are huge, are house made, but the taste is adapted to the local food. We tasted some kind of sugar in the pasta, which would be unacceptable in Italy. The price is, in my opinion too high. What a pity

Thank you for your coming at Dolce Italia ,I'm sorry if you felt taste that doesn't belong to my kitchen and to the Italian one .I use only carrots and onions to balance the acidity of tomatoes sauce. More

We were here for Christmas Eve. It was one of the best meals and total dinner experiences ever. Quaint atmosphere, friendly service. Both owners came over to welcome us and ask about our meals. The food was fabulous.

This was a very good, truly authentic Italian experience! We ate here with some friends in late March 2014 after asking for recommendations about where to eat in the Siesta Key area. Dolce Italia came well recommended to us. The restaurant from the outside is very unassuming and you may just walk on by it without going in. However this... More

Excellent italian food and service. The staff were socialy plaisante. We had such a great time to mingle with them. Note that the expresso is the best in town.

My boyfriend and I just took our mothers out to dinner at this restaurant and were very excited from the other reviews we read. Unfortunately, the male owner who was our server for the evening put a very sour taste in our mouths. My boyfriend has facial hair and he continually insulted him about this. He told him that no... If you've traveled in Italy, you know how varied and creative the Italian cuisine can be; local fresh ingredients, constantly changing menus and names of pastas you have never heard before. Dolce Italia has it all! Who has ever heard of "Strozzipreti" (literally "strangle the priest" ) pasta in the US?? These delicious homemade tubular pasta were served in "my... More
