Terrific Florida oysters at a reasonable price. Fried green tomatoes are best in town. Solid menu choices and soft shell crabs are lightly pan-fried without a lot of crust or grease. Fries are really good, well seasoned. Four of us ate, all different dishes ranging from a gumbo to grouper to shrimp and to the wonderful soft-shell crabs. Delicious meal.... More

I have now been to this restaurant twice. Both times it's been very good. Love the atmosphere as well.

Owen’s Fish camp had the best fish tacos ever. And the old guy sitting right outside the restaurant looked lifelike enough though he was a resin statue. The orchids clambering up the giant banyan tree looked plastic though they were not.

I'm not sure if this is fair to even rate a place where we did not dine. All I'm saying is this place looked fun! We tried to get a table for 8 on a Saturday night around 8 pm (not even sure I would say this was peak tourist season) and we were told there was no way that... More

Have been twice and wasn't disappointed either visit. Food was right on, atmosphere was funky and fun. Wouldn't expect this type of place in the middle of a historic, downtown neighborhood in Sarasota. Loved the backyard where we enjoyed a couple playing a mandolin and guitar. It couldn't a have been better.

The look is cool. The old Florida look, but the food was OK. Nothing too special. Not great, but not bad. It's the kind of place you can go after a long day of fishing with out having to go home and shower first... or maybe that's what the guys next to our table did. I had a pasta with... More

We love Owen's Fish Camp! Great food and great atmosphere in downtown Sarasota. The seafood is fresh and delicious and the service is great. It gets pretty crowded during tourist season and we have had to wait for a table for 2 hours before. There's not a lot of parking in the area, so you usually have to park in... More

For a different dining experience, go to Owen's Fish Camp. Not easy to find on a small side street, but well worth the effort for the food and ambiance. Hard to park. First, we waited in the back yard for a table, kind of cool and different. Then, we sat outside on the front "porch" like you would if visiting... More

Went here Friday night while visiting friends in siesta key from New York. Normally a one hour wait should send me packing but we stuck it out while listening to quirky band in back over cocktails. The wait was forty minutes and everything was great (skip oyster shooters) Wed highly recommend. The fish tacos can feed three people and were... More
