Beat the line!

If you are only a couple, you may be able to get seated at the bar quicker than if your table comes available. Same food, great service and funky decor. Get some of the small plates--the fried green tomato salad and the peel and eat shrimp are wonderful.

Worth the wait. Despite what others have said, the backyard where you wait is very quaint. There are tiki torches with citronella burning, so issues with mosquitoes are minimal. Band playing wasn't too loud... In fact, great music, perfect background music to enhance the ambiance. Despite being informed the wait may be as long as 1 hour, we were seated... More

This is one fun restaurant. Great food, great service, kooky ambiance. Cecelia never let our glasses go empty. Do not be fooled by the "fish camp motif". Genius exists behind the scene. Well trained, friendly staff backed up by culinary art pouring out of the kitchen. The fried lobster and clam chowder were truly exceptional. Grilled scamp was perfectly prepared.... More

This was my second year dining at Owen's fish camp and it was even more fun this time as last. We had to wait about 20 min before our table was ready so went out to the back to drink our beer and found a wonderful sitting area and garden filled with old furniture like you would find at a... More

Wonderful, and fun place to go as a coup[le, a family, or any kind of group. Old house that's turned into a restaurant- with back yard corn hole, porch swing, and fire pit 9weather permitting). Bar has 2 lamps on top of it, and to the right has menu of wine listed as Cheap, Good Better. Really good food too.... More

This is quite a unique place in Sarasota. It is quite small and doesn't take reservations. There is VERY little parking available nearby, and we had the pleasure of visiting during a downpour. I circled trying to find parking while my husband waited for a table... But, what are you going to do! Anyway, this was our last night in... More

This place was recommended to us when we were staying in Sarasota. We loved it. Great southern style food and great seafood. The fried green tomato appetizer with goat cheese and ham was addictive. My pecan crusted trout was amazing and the succotash brought back memories of growing up in Virginia. My husband totally enjoyed his scallops with pork and... More

Arrived in Sarasota and figured, being a Tuesday night, there wouldn't be too long a wait. Low and behold, we still had a wait. And let me get the only negative out of the way. While we waited on the pleasant outdoor porch, the mosquitos had a feeding frenzy. After a few minutes, I went to check on the wait... More

Really good seafood, at least as far as what we've ordered. My wife enjoyed her Fish Camp Basket and CedarKey oysters. I had a small salad (enough for two) and grilled Red Sapper. Their parking lot only holds eight cars, and it's tight. But there's plenty of free on street parking if you don't mind walking a few blocks. Outdoor... More

Awesome casual atmosphere. Food is great. Staff is really nice. Beer is cold. They said the fish spread was awesome....I would skip it..kinda bland. Try the sea scallops meal!! Never mind what succotash is, if u like corn in your mashed potatoes you will LOVE it!! We are definitely coming back!
