Amazingly unique & delicious! A must-try!

At the recommendation of a friend who travels from Tampa to eat at Owen's, we decided to stop by at 4:30 on a Monday. We were seated in a near-empty dining room but filled up almost entirely within 30 minutes. The clam chowder is probably the best I ever had (besides my own recipe). The jambalaya... read more

Casual, old-Florida atmosphere. The seafood was well prepared and fresh. Don't miss the backyard lounge with music.

This is one of our absolute favorite restaurants in Sarasota and we recently came back from another great meal along with some friends. This place is tucked into Burns court as part of a repurposed old house and can be hard to find if you're not familiar with the area. Parking is minimal at best and we almost always park... More

We live in New York and frequent Sarasota a few times a year. We never come without going to Owens. The restaurant is campy, the food is unreal and never lets us down and the service is always above and beyond. We've come with family, friends and even say at the bar. We recommend the fried pickles and fried green... More

Went to dinner at Owen's Fish Camp in Sarasota Saturday night. When we drove up, we couldn't believe what we saw! The restaurant has the look of an old fish camp. It also has an outside porch and yard with all kinds seating and old camping items and a wood fire with appetizers and drinks. A bluegrass duo was playing... More

Great place. The atmosphere is authentic old Florida fish camp that I grew up with. They have a back camp like area to have appetizers and drinks while you wait to be seated, complete with corn hole, tire swings and live music. The food itself is superb. The only drawback to this place can be the wait. If you show... More

We missed lunch due to flight times, so headed straight to Owens for an early dinner at the suggestion of our B&B. It's a good thing we did arrive early as other guests at our B&B made several attempts to dine there but were never able to get a table. The cuisine was described to us as Florida Creole. You... Have been here for the winter, wanted to try this restaurant out when we went into Sarasota. Went on Sunday at 3:50p.m.(they opened at 4). Good timing, cause the crowd was right behind us. Was seated and waited on promptly. Ordered Maryland oysters, since having been from the Chesapeke Bay area; was totally satisfied upon eating them !! Also had... More

We received a recommendation from a friend to visit Owen's Fish Camp on our recent trip to very sunny Florida. It was worth the trip! Use a GSP to find this hidden gem. First it is so interesting in the decor of the place. We both had starters - the Crab Cake (so good!!) and the salad with candied pecans.... More

Hard to find, very busy early in the evening. But service was fantastic and best seafood in many years. Now a reason to get back to Florida
