Nice intimate place, friendly management

My companion had the duck in cognac cream sauce which was the very best I've ever had. I cannot even describe just how good this was. The other outstanding dish was the escargot. Very, very good! The French onion soup was good but not great. I had the salmon which was just average. We did not order... read more

We celebrated my birthday by having lunch at this wonderful restaurant. I truly had the best French onion soup I've ever eaten. The broth had a luscious flavor and, instead of the melted-over-the-side stringy cheese, three tiny rounds of yummy french bread covered in melted cheese floated on top. They were easy to split into halves with a spoon and,... More

We were looking for a unique place to celebrate my birthday when we happened to walk by 62 Bistrot. Having spent time in Paris, we love French restaurants. We were not disappointed. Our pleasant waitress spoke with a French accent and the decor has an European flavor. Wonderful lunch crepes were served with a salad and good French wines were... More

Winter in Sarasota, Florida, is a busy place -- traffic jams, people everywhere, and tons of restaurants of varying quality. But stepping into 62 Bistrot was like being back in Paris. We had buckwheat crepes (galettes) with a salad and a glass of wine. The food was excellent, the atmosphere rich but quiet, and the service was perfect. Most impressive... More

My wife and I stopped in today for our first visit. I had a delicious veggie crepe that was perfectly made, served with a small side salad. My wife had the brittany which was mushroom, cheese, ham and an egg. Service was prompt and good and the restaurant clean. If you want a taste of France in Sarasota this place... More

I look forward to many returns to 62 Bistrot. The traditional French preparations and quiet bistro atmosphere offer a great respite from the trendier spots along Hillview. The duck was among the best I've tasted in Sarasota, with a brilliant creamy and peppery sauce. The wine list also offered a good value. The atmosphere is warm and well considered, in... More

Decided to try this for my birthday dinner. What a delightful evening.. Cozy, quiet, nice service and wonderful food. Could have been eating in France! My salmon was cooked perfectly, ratatouille was delicious. Topped it off with traditional crepe which disappeared too quickly. We will definitely be back.!!

We live in the Sarasota area and based on other good reviews we decided to try this restaurant. We Really like French food and so we arrived for our 6:30 reservation looking forward to a great meal. The inside does have a small bistro feel and was very pleasant. There was a single female waitress for the place who seemed... More

I love French cuisine - especially when it is served without that annoying French haughtiness. This place is very romantic - quiet and serene. And the food - it is another example of being treated to an ethnic/cultural experience that really does rival the "old country." Go. You will be pleasantly surprised at the authenticity.

Real authentic French restaurant... what a lovely surprise for me !! I am French living in Florida. Excellent food and charming service. The owners Vanessa and Alexandre are a wonderful couple and their immaculate Bistrot will me seeing again.
