A little slice of Paris in Sarasota

While staying on Siesta Key my husband I dined at 62 Bistro in Sarasota. What a great little find! The restaurant is very cozy inside. It is owned by a husband and wife team, who are from near Bordeaux, and yes, they are the chefs. Our server was very polite, professional, and friendly. We... read more

What a find! Chef Alex was a gracious host, making us feel as if we were dining at his home rather than eating at a restaurant. The staff is excellent. Our server made some great recommendations for antique shops to visit in the area. And the food!!!! My partner had the onion soup while I indulged in escargot, both of... More

We had just returned from Paris and this little gem made us feel like we were still there. Great atmosphere, great service and great food are ingredients in abundance at this foodies delight.

The ambience of this restaurant is cosy and intimate, and the food is delicious. Our party of four really enjoyed duck breast in a pepper sauce, flounder in a lobster sauce, and Boef Bourguignon. The French onion soup was good, too. The only complaint we had was the service: two and a half hours for a two-course meal is way... More

Delicious food - the sauces were amazing. I enjoyed the pork medallions au Poivre and my only disappointment was the small portion of VERY thin medallions of pork tenderloin. I don't think there was even 2 ounces of pork on the plate. Tasty but sparse. Other with us enjoyed the flounder and Beef BOURGUIGNON. Crepes for dessert were yummy.

My companion had the duck in cognac cream sauce which was the very best I've ever had. I cannot even describe just how good this was. The other outstanding dish was the escargot. Very, very good! The French onion soup was good but not great. I had the salmon which was just average. We did not order dessert. The ambiance... More

We celebrated my birthday by having lunch at this wonderful restaurant. I truly had the best French onion soup I've ever eaten. The broth had a luscious flavor and, instead of the melted-over-the-side stringy cheese, three tiny rounds of yummy french bread covered in melted cheese floated on top. They were easy to split into halves with a spoon and,... More

We were looking for a unique place to celebrate my birthday when we happened to walk by 62 Bistrot. Having spent time in Paris, we love French restaurants. We were not disappointed. Our pleasant waitress spoke with a French accent and the decor has an European flavor. Wonderful lunch crepes were served with a salad and good French wines were... More

Winter in Sarasota, Florida, is a busy place -- traffic jams, people everywhere, and tons of restaurants of varying quality. But stepping into 62 Bistrot was like being back in Paris. We had buckwheat crepes (galettes) with a salad and a glass of wine. The food was excellent, the atmosphere rich but quiet, and the service was perfect. Most impressive... More

My wife and I stopped in today for our first visit. I had a delicious veggie crepe that was perfectly made, served with a small side salad. My wife had the brittany which was mushroom, cheese, ham and an egg. Service was prompt and good and the restaurant clean. If you want a taste of France in Sarasota this place... More
