Burgers, Beer, and a Beautiful View...Priceless!

This quaint bait shop and burger joint is located in a little shack just before the bridge to Longboat Key. Sit at the rough hewn wood counter outside and watch the beautiful Florida sea life as sailboats and fishing boats go by while you munch on a great burger and french fries. A great place for... read more

Service with a smile; great hamburgers, tuna salad.. Always efficient service; consistently good food. Although the old building does tend to worry guests, the food and view is worth much more than food costs!

A couple of shacks right on the water ... With the grill turning out some really good burgers. A popular spot by car or by boat. Most seats are counter-style, except instead of looking at the kitchen, you're looking at the water. Definitely a stop for visitors to the beach that don't want the snootiness of St Armand's... :-)

New Pass Grille & Bait Shop, Lido Beach: really cool, old Florida-type outdoor, right on the canal with pelicans called "New Pass Grille"! The food was fresh, delicious and it was so fun 2 eat there--brought back nostalgic type memories of "Old Florida".

I go to Sarasota quite regularly and always have a meal at New Pass Grill. They have two locations: Ken Thompson Parkway and St. Armands Circle. Both offer unique ambiance, good food , good service at great prices. The Ken Thompson location is on the water and offers 'old' Florida quaintness. The St. Armands Circle location is a good place... This is a lovely quaint little spot, great for spotting birds, lovely cheap snack type food. Not cordon bleu but ideal snack food for a quick meal after fishing or boating. We liked sitting outside and the view is awesome. It's a very cheap place to eat with a stunning view. Bit like something in Forrest Gump, atmospheric and real.

Loved the hamburger, not sure what you call those buns. Fries okay to me, but my mom really like those too. You sit outside. On the road with Mote Aquarium.

Stopped in for lunch, and even through the exterior is very "rustic Looking" was surprised at the quality of the food. Cash only. Burgers were great, fries very good. Only outdoor seating, but for people watching, viewing the wild life, seagulls, etc. very good. Met and talked to a painter who was working as she painted and was very interesting.... More

This place does not look like it has quality food but appearances can be deceiving. I had a superb burger and my wife had a cod sandwich . She said it was the best she'd ever tasted . Then there was the fries , really tasty . It was also fantastic value . I might travel the 4000 miles next... More

For the money, the best burger I have eaten anywhere ! I am in Sarasota/Longboat Key often and always stop here. The location on Ken Thompson Pkwy is right on the bay and very relaxing. The location on St Armand's Circle is also very nice for sitting outside. Do not miss this cheeseburger !!
