Always good food here. Recently at a wine tasting they let us sample their gourmet hamburger. Tasted like a steak. Worth the price (double) regular hamburger if you want to impress grilling guests.

Being oof the beaten path, not downtown or on Siesta Key, but on Osprey Ave near the hospital, I'd suggest its more of the locals crowd. The food inside is to die for, but that's what you will need, your inheritance. The best of speciality grocery/wine/bakery in town. Shop there for special items sometimes, but stop often for coffee and deserts, which are beautifully presented and delicious. Seat outside and people watch, better than Starbucks or Panera.

You can always get delicious, prepared foods at Morton's. It's great for a quick meal for your family, but also for entertaining guests. They simply have the best prepared and unprepared food. A great Jewish Deli, knish's my favorite. If you are in Sarasota, this is a must. Enjoy eating outside.

Located in old downtown Sarasota, Morton's offers a vast array of gourmet foods, from fresh, local items to jars and jars of condiments, etc. from all over the world. It even has a semi-restaurant inside (with some outdoor seating) Parking is scarce.

Whenever we're in Sarasota area (not often enough!) I have to go to Morton's. They have an absolutely amazing selection of ready made meal ingredients. Everything from Chicken Parmesan (which is to die for) to salads. When you go plan a bit of time for a coffee and sweet - the bake shop is not to be missed !

We found this on our way to the airport the day we were leaving. It is the best place for gourmet, upscale food, groceries and bakery anywhere I have travelled. I wish we had found it at the beginning of the trip. Food is great. Lots of variety. Expensive but worth it. The workers were extremely helpful.
