All you Newfoundlanders near Sarasota looking for the best restaurant there.

What a gem of a place! The owner, Franca, I believe her name is, greeted us warmly, made great suggestions and charmed us the whole time. The food is as good as Italian food can get. We ate here two days after dining at Dolce Italian. Both my wife and I agreed it was good but came in second to Dolce Italia. That being said this place is still worth checking out. My suggestion would be to update the menu. A few new dishes would be great. You can get the same old Italian food about... More

I like linguini in a white clam sauce but dislike a lot of garlic. Fortunately the sauces can be customized and mine arrived light on the garlic. My wife enjoyed a delicious shrimp ravioli in a puttanesca sauce. We arrived after 7 so there was no problem of being rushed for the next seating, and all in all it was... More

I read the urban spoon report about costs and on Friday the costs seemed to rise a few dollars. Everything is al carte and any meal with a salad will cost you $28 bucks or more, even pasta with meatballs. I was disappointed in the price difference, but I left a small tip regardless; not my usual 20%. They have... More

I never respond to our reviews, but this time I feel that I must………in regards to prices changing on fridays, we have the same menu for all our days open. If you saw something on line.. that could have been an older menu. Our establishment is a fine dining Restaurant with white tablecloths and beautiful wine glasses…this is not an... More

Your site says restaurant is open on weekdays until 10 pm. We arrived last evening at 9:20 pm only to be told the kitchen was closed. Manager said I should have called in advance and then she would not have closed. I found this to be an unacceptable response. Please correct the closing time to indefinite.

Tucked away in a strip plaza off the beaten path this place is a hidden gem. The decor is much more upscale and fun than we expected. It's a family business and Franca, with her Jersey accent, makes the place come alive. A limited menu means everything is good. Our table enjoyed veal, eggplant and lobster ravioli. Well worth a... This has to be the only place in Sarasota where you can't get separate checks. And you get to argue w the owner's wife about it! We went to a party and sat at a table w 3 other couples whom we didn't know well and wanted our own check. The waitress's excuse was they don't have a computer. After... More

Use your GPS to find this intimate Italian restaurant tucked away off the main road; we have passed by hundreds of times and didn't realize it existed. The owner welcomed us warmly, even without reservations, although reserving is a good idea. The pasta fagioli was delicious, as were all the dishes we tried. My favorite was a pasta dish with... This gem is hidden in the Gulf Gate area but you definitely have to find it! The food is amazing! Made just for you, fresh and in a timely manner. The ambience is great and the Solorzano family will make you feel at home and like a long time friend. This is the best Italian dinner I have had in... More

Our meal was lovely. I had veal, it was tender and full of flavor. My husband had Chicken Parmesan and the serving size was generous and delicious. The lady who greeted us at the door was funny and kind. Frankie also assisted us with the menu and ordering our wine (Barbarossa). At the end of our meal we had a... More
