Olé!!!

Took a flier because we read about it ten the newspaper. It was even better than described on several levels. The food was excellent, service equally excellent. The waitress was a bold nursing student - much fun and personable. The owner, Rubin, stopped by to chat and apologize for being out of... read more

We have been here 3 times and really love the food! It is healthy, fresh and delicious. We highly recommend it. The best Mexican we have had in Sarasota.

I am embarrassed that we have lived in Sarasota and this is the first time we have been here. We have tried 3 other Mexican restaurants in Sarasota several times and they all have typical Tex-Mex food. That is okay, but El Toro Bravo's food is a step above the rest. It is maybe a dollar or two higher than... More

Made reservation online 3 hours before we wanted to eat. Got confirmation email said we were in. Showed up and were told we didn't have a reservation. Showed our confirmation email and the hostess said even when they are full the online system still tells u they aren't and makes u reservation. WHAT?? That is asinine! There are 800 restaurants... This is a small restaurant buried in a small strip mall. It has lunch hours , but then re-opens at 5pm for dinner. We got there right at 5 and there were already people waiting at the door. When we left a few minutes before 6 all the tables (including the few out on sidewalk) were al full. .The servers... More

From the moment we were seated, we felt welcomed to a family meal. The server was very attentive, informative and happy to help us explore the menu. We enjoyed a pitcher of sangria with our dinners - fajitas, fish taco salad and enchiladas were all delicious. We were too stuffed for dessert! Highly recommend getting a reservations since many people... More

I've lived in Sarasota for 38 years and the first 28 years there were no GOOD Mexican Restaurants in the area. Since My origins are from the southwest US I was delighted to find el Toro Bravo about a decade ago! We eat there at least once a week and sometimes 3 or 4 times a week and feel like... More

The food at this restaurant is always fantastic and is fresh and full of great flavors! We have eaten at many Mexican restaurants in central Florida and this place is, by far, our favorite. It is a little crowded (because of the great food) and noisy (I heard they are moving to larger quarters this year! Yay!) but they honor... More

We were in the mood for Mexican food while on our vacation to Sarasota. We found El Toro on the internet, and boy, were we glad we did. We were greeted by what I assume to be the owner when we walked in. He asked us where we were from, told us a little bit about the place, and that... More
