Stumbled onto this gem during a recent trip down 30A while vacationing in Destin. The wait staff was fantastic and at our arm for anything we needed...the chef even came out twice to make certain we liked our meal...everyone was very friendly. My wife had the fish tacos and I had the shrimp scampi over angel hair pasta...both meals were... More

I'd eaten at Shorty's a couple of years back and remembered it as just so so. However, it was a pleasant day and we were close so we rode our bikes and stopped there for lunch. We walked into the downstairs bar area. There was no host/hostess so we sat down at a table. The bar tender never acknowledged we... More

Chose Shorty's over the Red Bar (just across the street) because we wanted to enjoy the view. The white table clothes and closed windows did nothing to make the atmosphere appealing. Sat down, ordered a drink from the server and decided then to go back downstairs to the bar. The server upstairs was a bit off-putting to say the least.... More

We tried to eat here earlier in the week, but the parking is very limited here. We came back a couple days later on our bicycles and got right in. They are offering a free shuttle from various stops nearby which should help during the busier times of the summer. The food was very good. I had the seafood platter... More

This place was strange. We ate topside for dinner as a party of 14 and no-one else ate there the entire time we were there. Although the food was very good- I think the air conditioner was out though as it was very hot. Service was decent but the wait staff didn't seem overly happy to be there but overall... More

We have vacationed in the area for over 20 years and make an effort to seek out new places. Although we love the Red Bar, it is so crowded at times that the meal is not pleasant. A local recommended Shortys, and we were not disappointed. There were nice tables upstairs and we had a gulf view. The food was... More

This is a great secret in Grayton beach! We visited there 2 years ago and just had to go back the first night of our vacation. We loved the laid back atmosphere and looks like the dining room has been updated a bit. We love the fried soft shell crab and we asked that it be served family style with... More

My family, 16 in all, were vacationing in Grayton Beach for the week. We stayed right across the street from Shorty's. We had debated whether to eat at the Red Bar or Shorty's. We opted for Shorty's because I had heard it was good, and their menu was more extensive than the Red Bar's. We were told to arrive early... More
