Great Southern food for the whole family. Some items a little pricey but worth it. Nice drink menu and drafts. Friendly wait staff and fun atmosphere.

Love coming here for their happy hour. The Bloody Mary's are very good and go very well with the oysters. There is something for everyone on the menu. It is also a great place to bring families. A locals and tourist hot spot.

Our friend lets us stay at her place on the beach regularly and we are done going all over trying restaurants. Great Southern is going to be the place we eat at. Never disapointing, great service and more reasonable than some of the high brow-high dollar places in the area. Get there early in season..

I was sorely disappointed when visiting Great Southern with friends last week. I joined the group late so I was just planning to have dessert or a drink, and even though the restaurant was not busy that evening (4/9/14) and my friends had asked for a chair ahead of time for me, I had to stand beside the table for... Very nice restaurant in Seaside. Can be a little pricey. Food is hit or miss but mostly hit. Very nice happy hour. Have been her several times and keep coming back. Specials are usually the way to go. They have a very nice in encrusted grouper. If it's on the special menu get it.

On a recent trip back to Seaside, we had an early dinner at the Great Southern. Having been here only for breakfast a few years ago, our expectations were modest, but we were pleasantly suprised. The cocktails and wine were outstanding and reasonably priced (particularly during happy hour), but the foods was also extremely good. We had a variety of... More

From the crabmeat fried green tomato eggs Benedict to the Happy Hour Oyster specials, there is nowhere I would rather be. Love the choice of indoor or outside seating overlooking the Seaside amphitheater. Every time we come to the beach, we eat here multiple times. Never anything but great food with great service. Happy Hour specials start at 4:00.

Typical fare for the area but with a touch of fun. Went with friends on a Sunday night over spring break. Even with the rainy night, the service was great and the covered outdoor eating area was cry comfortable. I highly recommend the shrimp and bacon Mac and cheese, a decadent beach take on comfort food. Prices are comparable with... More

We chose lunch at the Great Southern over a better known nearby restaurant, and were very happy we did. Much food prepared from scratch. Each of the four diners had a different entree, and each meal was excellent. Not a grit-lover, but their grits with gouda were very good, fried green tomatoes were excellent, and the flounder was prepared perfectly.... More

We visited Seagrove Beach for a month and ate at Great Southern Cafe 3 times. Love the food and enjoy sitting outside. Their grits are really good but my favorite is the fried whole okra!! Delicious. Can't wait to visit again in the future.
