One of our favorites!!

Went to Santa Rosa Beach for vacation with no particular plans other than to go to Seaside one day to eat at Great Southern Cafe!! We ate there on vacation in 2012 and knew we had to go back. We went during happy hour and, although it was pretty crowded, service was great and so was the food! We... read more

I ordered the cafe Benedict, and it was awful. The muffin was soaked in water and the hollandaise sauce had no flavor. We also had the fisherman which had no flavor. :(

I've been to the Great Southern several times, and it's been great every time. There's often a line, but the food is worth it. The blue crab claw appetizer is excellent - get it sautéed, not fried. The grits a ya ya are the signature dish for a reason. They're absolutely delicious, and you should definitely get them.

Loved this little gem. We stopped in for breakfast and it is was delicious. Quaint setting, local fresh milk, wonderfully smooth Gouda grits and delicious crab eggs Benedict. Loved it!

This was our new place to eat during our now annual trip to the area. We waited about an hour for a table of 5 around 7pm, but it was worth the wait. The best items we had were the soul rolls, pimento cheese, and hummus. Skip the crab cakes. The ya ya with the smoked gouda cheese grits...OMG. The... More

We had to wait 90 minutes for a table for our party of 7. However, given the time of year, that was not surprising, nor problematic, as there are plenty of shops to duck into to pass the time. There are even food trucks across the street if you wish to grab an appetizer or drink elsewhere while you wait.... More

Went here for happy hour which is 4-6 pm! Had some amazing Mojitos!! The Collard & Artichoke Dip is a must have along with the chicken wings. I love this place and can't wait to return. They were busy but I still received A+ service!!!

We ate here multiple times for breakfast trying different dishes. Everything we had was wonderful. I'm not a fan of grits, but the smoked Gouda grits were delicious. The bacon pecan waffle was sumptuous. The eggs Benedict and the corned beef hash Benedict were excellent. The vanilla scented pancakes were light and fluffy. It was consistently good from day to... Though we had to wait a good bit before being seated (expected at this time of year!), we all enjoyed our lunch thoroughly. I dined with my 15-year old son, his friend, my sister, and her 22- and 6-year old daughters. We had plenty of options and were all very pleased with our meal. I ordered the Mediterranean salad with... More

We drove to Seaside to eat here one afternoon. We arrived around 1:00 and were seated outside immediately. The picnic tables outside are covered with umbrellas so it was nice. Great people watching spot as well. We had calamari, shrimp PO-boys (the fried shrimp was better), chicken Caesar salad, and mahi sandwich. All were very good! Pricing was reasonable. Will... More
