We are a small contemporary Italian restaurant. We have a full bar and bar area, dining room with open kitchen and a screened in porch area. We are chef owned and operated and at least one of the two owner/chefs can be found in the kitchen every night. We have a excellent staff most of whom have been with us for many years. We had our 15 year anniversary on March 1, 2015 with the same two owner/chefs for that time. We have a nice variety of food to choose from, with appetizers like calamari and pan seared sea scallops, salads like Caesar and arugula, pastas like angel hair with pan seared shrimp and three meat bolognese and entrees like grouper nicoise and roasted eggplant lasagna. Please come and give us a try!

Very good pasta dishes

Our first visit to Borago. We ordered the mushroom ravioli and an angel hair pasta and shrimp dish. Both were very good. The bread and dipping oil were delicious. Chocolate cream brûlée was the best!

Borago is the only place I must visit when I am in the Destin area. I order the seafood fricassee every time. It is insanely delicious! The calamari is a great appetizer, and I love the focaccia that comes with your meal. The Strawbrezza is my favorite drink.

We had an amazing dinner! While driving around the area scouting for a new home, we stumbled on Borago based on reviews on an iPhone app. What a treat! In the casual, laid-back atmosphere, we enjoyed a leisurely meal. Our cocktails were very tasty. I managed to prevent myself from licking my salad plate - but only just. My filet... More

This is difficult! Borago has really good food, exceptional food but the service is horrible. We waited 40 minutes between courses and our waiter was not too concerned that we have been waiting. My guess is that this is a norm. I figured that they would want to turn the table since it was really busy. Now for the good... More

My wife and I went to Borago this past Thursday. It was late and we didn't make reservations. They were really busy but they cleared a table and got us right in. We are not big fans of Italian food but both love eating here. The servers are really down to earth and helpful. We have made numerous requests for... More

We walked to the restaurant from our hotel and arrived at 5:45pm on Friday night (15 minutes before opening). We were able to sit at the bar and enjoy a drink and get a table without a reservation. Our waiter was extremely knowledgeable and helpful. Like others, we wished there were more than four tiny pieces of the delicious bread... More

Great compliment, thank you! Decided I guess I need to explain about the bread, our bread is made from scratch in house daily using reservations as a guide to how much made. The first few years we were open we would run out of bread towards the end of the night (imagine the upset customers who came in later) because... More

Had dinner here last fall with friends from Orlando. We all agreed that it was a fantastic dinner. When we agreed to meet again in the Santa Rosa area the first thing we wanted to do was make a date to eat here again. We were all concerned that the anticipation might overshadow the actual experience. Our dinner was better... More

The staff are friendly and service was very good. The food was delicious as always. I wish they would bring more than four small pieces of bread to the table. If you ask for more it is an additional charge. The salad is also additional and I was disappointed that it was on the sparse side.

Thank you for your review. I am sorry it wasn't quite right for you. We do the bread that way because the bread is made from scratch in house according to reservations and in the first few years we were open would run out towards the end of the night due to too much bread going out initially. I am... More

Borago is my favorite restaurant in the world! If I had to choose my last meal, it would be the grouper nicoise with the chocolate creme brûlée for dessert. I have been going here since they opened and have never been disappointed. The wait staff doesn't seem to change much either and they are fantastic! The ladies from my church... More

We chose Borago based on many positive online reviews and its convenience to our Grayton Beach rental and we were not disappointed. We shared an order of some of the best calamari I have ever had, while intermittently discussing entrees and wines with our server. I ordered their three meat bolognese which was different from my Marcella Hazan based expectations,... More
