We come to Sanibel every year and have eaten at Sweet Melissa at least three times over the years. We love it. Last night my husband and I celebrated our 20th anniversary with a great meal and a bottle of wine. We started with a really fresh watermelon, tomato and pesto salad and mussels with cream and spinach, then we... More

Had lunch at Sweet Melissa's. The roasted beet salad was excellent as well as the smoked chicken sandwich. Will have to try it for dinner next time .

The food was excellent. The resturaunt is very quite and nicely decorated. The waitress we had was also very good. The lady that owns the place was the chef and you can see the pride she takes in presenting her food. Wonderful.

Steaks were good, Cobia was ok. I get fresh fish year around in my home town of Destin FL. I love Cobia but it must be fresh and mine was ok. Melissa's has a great wine list and very quiet and comfortable.

Sweet Melissa’s feels like Sanibel. Tucked away in what was once likely a private home, it feels good just walking in the door. Inside, it feels even better. From the entryway you can see the chef clad artists at work in the observation kitchen. To that right, a small bar beckons you to have one of their signature cocktails, to... More

Could be partly that the night before at another highly-recommended Sanibel restaurant was so very disappointing, but Melissa's was just great. Attractively organized, not noisy, outstanding service, nice wine choices, and delicious food. We will be sure to go back when next on Sanibel.

We stopped for lunch and ate on the patio. It was peaceful and quite. The service was great and so was the food. One of the better places we have eaten in Sanibel.

Since the day it opened, Sweet Melissa's has unquestionably been Sanibel's finest restaurant. The combination of food and service quallity, ambiance and reasonable prices can't be beat. Book well in advance for a table.

Food was excellent. We all enjoyed what we ordered from the grilled romaine lettuce to the New Orleans style BBQ shrimp & grits. The menu is quite small offering "small plates" and an entree section. The small plates were a decent size and easily could serve as a main course for some. Dessert was very good as well. The service... More
