We had a delicious dinner at Sweet Melissa's. The decor is very peaceful (while the piped in live guitar music was a little loud, it was a lovely sound). The food was delicious. Don't believe them when they say "small" plates -- the ones we ordered were entree size. We shared the grilled caesar, the steak tartare, the roasted beet... More

I personally do a lot of research before going on vacation regarding where to stay, dine and shop. This restaurant was highly recommended especially by the locals. The service was impeccable and the entrees where phenomenal. The chef, Melissa prepares and cooks everything, she loves what she does and it shows! My hubby and I felt like royalty, what a... More

I was surprised to see the menu items when I pulled up on Monday (the day they are closed) to gauge whether or not i wanted to dine here. Cafe to me screams coffee and scones and maybe a wrap sandwich. Not this joint, this had some of the coolest things on that paper that we knew we didn't want... More

We vacation in Sanibel yearly and always cook. This time we stayed in neighboring Ft Myers and came to Sanibel looking for another restaurant. The other restaurant was closed ( good for us) and we called sweet Melissa's. I felt under dressed for a couple of minutes , but immediately felt at ease. The menu is made in a way... More

My family was simply maxed out on trying to find another good Sanibel restaurant. Most of them are the same old, same old, with basic seafood and steak. However, we decided to try a "new" restaurant on our last evening and we are very happy that we did. Sweet Melissa's is a very detail-oriented restaurant with wonderful atmosphere for a... More

Never fails to delight, Sweet Melissa's ranks as one of our favorite dinner spots in the world. Reservations essential for this small and unpretentious place. The staff are warm and friendly, and service is attentive and balanced. The bar is amazingly well-stocked, including homemade mixers, and a bartender who is a wizard at crafting cocktails. The wine list is medium-sized... More

I have been a fan of Sweet Melissa's since it's creation. From a special night out to dinner with friends or a quick meal at the bar I have never been disappointed with the food or service. The only difficulty I have is deciding what to eat beyond my staple Grilled Romaine but there are always good choices to pick... More
