We ate two dinners and a lunch here during our five day stay on the island. That says it all. The four of us enjoyed everything we ate. We loved that you could order half-portions, and the portions of everything, including small plates were quite generous, and the pricing was very fair. The lunch salads were unique and very tasty... more

Melissa's is an all-around fine dining experience. The menu provides a variety choices, expertly prepared. Our server was patient with our questions. Her responses were useful and displayed a knowledge of the menu offerings. The large dining area provided comfortable space between tables. Muted earth tones in the room offer a welcoming, laid back environment. Prices are commensurate with the... more

My husband and I dined at Sweet Melissa's last week.Wow, what a menu. You won't find this food anywhere else on the island. We started with a bowl of mussellls in a wonderful broth with just the nicest hint of fennel , my only problem here was that it was not served with some bread to soak up the delicious... more

Sat by the open kitchen, watched the chef's preparing the food, which we really enjoy. Wanted to eat so many things on the menu, but the waiter kindly advised what the right amount of food would be satisfying, and I really appreciated that as I would not have made it to dessert and would have been very disappointed! Ate a... more

After the concierge @ our Island Harbor hotel gave us a list of 4 places to try, we really lucked out with this "jewel". Privately owned and Melissa actually does all the cooking... the attention to detail was so impressive, we asked to meet her. Her creativity really shone with a modern version of Caesar salad (on the grill) with... more

My husband and I had dinner here last night and the food was so exceptional that I felt compelled to write a review. We went after reading the reviews on TripAdvisor and I completely agree with their praise of the restaurant. My husband had a frisee lettuce salad with poached pears and candied pecans for his appetizer, followed by another... more

After eating one too many fried grouper sandwiches elsewhere on the island, we decided to try this place as it had gotten mostly good reviews. Not disappointed--great meal. Very elegant place with a sophisticated menu. We were unsure of how to order: they have appetizers, "small plates," and entrees that you can get in whole or 1/2 size. Our waiter... more

We were'nt really looking for fine dining when we went in, but were quite surprised. First off the service was very friendly and very good. The food was very good. I would say the flavors were unique and good, some of them missed a little but not in a totally bad way. I would go here if you are looking... more

My wife and I went out for date night on Saturday night. We had heard good things about Sweet Melissa’s out on Sanibel, so we went. The restaurant itself lacks any real design tastes inside- it feels commercial. We were seated in a back room where they must do large groups. The lights were way too bright for the vibe... more

Like you, I do my review before I visit a restaurant. The reviews for "Sweet Melissa's Cafe" were "Good", but the restaurant is "AMAZING". The Menu is unique and the dishes we had were very, very flavorful. For our Anniversary, my wife and I had the "Octopus Salad", "Pork Belly Small Plate", "Seafood Stew",and "Pistachio Brittle Panna Cotta" . I... more
