Very nice place

My family had a very nice dinner. Food was good. Desert was just ok. Service was good. Very quiet. Would return on next visit to Sanibel.

Family was vacationing in Sanibel and read good reviews on sweet Melissa's, so we gave it a try. When we walked into the empty restaurant before 1700 the hostess asked if we had reservations in a sny sort of way. We optimistically sat down and ordered a round of drinks and two small plates, the pork cheeks and goat cheese... More

Our server, Molly, did a great job making our evening special. From cocktails to dessert she was on point. One of the very appealing things about Melissa's are the "petite" portions - which are really just the right amount of food. We started with the rabbit pate - simply delicious! The thinly sliced pickles the perfect accompaniment! We both had... More

My husband and I recently had lunch at Sweet Melissa. We were in the mood for more upscale restaurant and after reading reviews decided to try it. We arrived around 2 pm. There was one couple in the restaurant so it was quiet. The main dining room is very pleasant with white tablecloths and black cloth napkins. We were seated... More

Sweet Melissa's Cafe provides an upscale setting and a menu full of fresh options. But that didn't mean an expensive bill, nor were we turned away for our casual attire. Friendly service rounded out the great experience. (By the way, the farm fresh sandwich was enough for two, and very good.)

My wife and I tried this restaurant for lunch during our recent vacation on Sanibel Island. We were impressed with the atmosphere and white tablecloth service - not a typical Sanibel and Captiva experience. We shared a roasted beet salad for starters and it was excellent. I had a crab cake sandwich and it was good but not exceptionally so.... More

Love the "perfect bite" aspect of Sweet Melissa's. We tasted a variety of things, including grilled octopus, pork cheeks with pickled blueberries, and sweetbreads. Like their small plate approach. Very nice wine selection. Took the advice of another TripAdvisor reviewer and tried the Super Tuscan for pre-dinner, which was pretty unbelievable! Also had a lovely white chocolate raspberry martini for... More

Don't let the name cafe fool you. This is casual fine dining ... and it is really, really good. My wife and I both had salads, she the roasted beet salad (really good) and I had the mixed greens salad (ample and well dressed). Half portions are avaliable for entrees. Given the size of the salads, it is an option... More

Just finished a phenomenal dinner for the 4 of us (2 adults, 13yr old, 10 yr old). We would all go back in a heartbeat. Robert was our server and was fabulous. We had the grilled octopus and artisan greens salad appetizers. Both great. The 13yr old loved the octopus! Nice fresh bread and olive oil. A bit heavy on... More

Summer isn't the high season, but we made reservations for 4 anyway. Had a nice table with a view. The food was excellent and the wine list had a good variety at reasonable prices. We had a Super Tuscan that was excellent. Our server was attentive and knowledgeable. All in all, a very pleasant evening with friends. We live in... More
