Laid back, family style eatery with lots of choices-- fresh seafood, sandwiches, burgers... It's our favorite spot on Sanibel for clam chowder!!

It was my boyfriends birthday so we decided to celebrate at Lazy Flamingo. We had never tried oysters before and decided Lazy Flamingo would be our first! They were very tasty especially with Tabasco. I ordered the peel and eat shrimp and it was delicious! Usually peel and eat is served over ice and cold. Instead it was steaming hot,... More

We all know how much I like grouper and clam chowder...this place earns the top spot. It's more like a bar, sit down, watch the game, have a few beers, but has lots of tables too. I get the grouper sandwiches every time I go...and every time I go, they're thick, they're juicy, their spiced well, they are top notch.... More

We got there round 9:45pm one of the few places that are opened late (except for weekend) on the Island. The service was very good, our waitress was Sarah and from the start she made us feel welcomed, went over the specials and gave us enough time to look over the menu. Once our order was placed it seemed like no... More

First trip to Sanibel/Captiva....Lazy Flamingo provided quality seafood at a reasonable price. Had both fried and peel & eat shrimp and they were excellent. The conch chowder was one of the best things I had on the island. The Sanibel Island location was somewhat small, so if there is a crowd you may have to wait. Very casual, "eat at... More

First of all, we went because several people had told us that it was a good restaurant. We walked in to see a bar and looked for a restaurant behind, but guess what, that's it -- it's just a bar with a couple of tables. That said, it's a quaint and fun hangout with very quick service. It's a self... More

Finally, we found a place that served oysters on the 1/2 shell and fried, ordered both, very good. Nautical sports bar environment. Fun place with great service. They only serve beer and wine, no mixed drinks.

Go for the daily smoked fish of the day. You never know what it will me - from Mahi-Mahi to Black Grouper - never fails to impress. Local hang out and quite rustic.

but skip the Chicken Caesar salad.... Tin roof, dark wood panels, wood block tables, and not much room to wait to be seated. We enjoyed the fried grouper and the fries were just right. The coleslaw was good and crunchy. The chicken in the salad was dry and flavorless. A pretty funky place but great if you want a drinking... More
