My husband and I had breakfast one day during our stay at Sanibel Island. The portions are huge and served fast and hot. The staff are efficient and pleasant. Everything was cooked to our satisfaction and was tasty. The look of the place is deceiving as everyone else has mentionned. Good value and worth visiting.

We stayed at the island for a few days and discovered this great place in a strip mall. We enjoyed breakfast and lunch the following day, were pleasantly surprised by the quality of food and the service also. We'll be back when we're visiting the island

Don't let the drab, outdated and uninspiring decor fool you. Even though I this looks like a diner out of the 1970s, the food is very fresh and very good. We had a great bike ride on a Sunday morning there for breakfast and enjoyed the food very much. Portions were large, the service was prompt and the prices, though... More

My wife and I are always surprised that the Sanibel Café is not busier than we normally find it - a result, I suspect, of its location. The restaurant only serves breakfast and lunch, and we generally finish up going there and eating something from their breakfast menu at lunchtime. On our most recent visit, the service was prompt, efficient... More

We got up early one morning to ride our bikes and came across this restaurant off the main road. The atmosphere was nice and the service was good.

We were on vacation with a party of 8. The restaurant isn't very big inside yet they made space for us around lunch time. The menu choice was good and they serve breakfast all day. The coffee was not good though, tasted like ocean water. The food was pretty good and typical of a cafe with an island twist.

Visited the Sanibel Cafe twice during our stay on Sanibel, breakfast and lunch and enjoyed it each time. For breakfast, try the Sanibel Style omelette - if you like shrimp - because it is loaded with them. It contains shrimp, herbs and Havarti cheese and it is so yummy. For lunch I tried the Rusty Pelican which is turkey with... More
