I wanted a light breakfast so ordered a simple biscuit with butter and a bowl of fresh fruit. The biscuit (which came sans butter - had to ask twice) was the smallest I've ever seen in my life and certainly did not taste homemade. Barely a few bites, so had to order another. (Again, she forgot the butter.) But the... more

We ate at the Sanibel Cafe three times in three days. The cafe was a good find because it offers delicious, well-prepared food at a moderate price. Many of the local breakfast and lunch-serving cafes were closed after the end-of-summer rush, and we stumbled upon this place. It was not in the list of local restaurants provided by my Garmin... more

We had breakfast here one morning while vacationing on Sanibel. They have daily specials and a wide variety of options. The customer service was excellent. We really enjoyed our meal and look forward to returning next time. more

We ate here last time and decided to try breakfast this time. The food was very good. I thought $3.50 was a lot for a large orange juice but maybe that's the going price. We would definitely eat here again though. more

Ate here in 03 and remembered it and came back, so that tells you something. Food was even better this time. Great little spot in an older shopping plaza, not too crowded and reasonably priced for resort island like Sanibel. Wife had crab cake eggs benedict and loved it. I had a good omelet with pancakes and hash browns included... more

After eating sub par food at outrageous prices for a week, we decided to give the Sanibel Cafe a try. It is in the same area as Cheeburger Cheeburger( which we liked and I'll review later) We had walked past the cafe a few days prior, and saw the very interesting tables. They are display tables, with glass tops. Inside... more

We were delightfully surprised by the interesting breakfast menu at this quaint family run establishment including 'The Islander' (sauteed gator with eggs, toast, hash browns), the Thursday special ('Trio of French toast' each coated with one of sweetened coconut, slivered almonds and pecans), 'Eggs Benedict with Crab Cakes' and a very satisfying 'Steak and Eggs with Grits'. The kids loved... more

My husband and I had a hard time picking a restaurant for lunch while on Sanibel Island. Everything that looked good was way too expensive! We chose the Sanibel Cafe because it is the oldest family owned and operated restaurant on the island. (We got a brochure at the Visitor's Center). There is a lot to choose from and the... more
