Good breakfast and even better late lunch

We have been here for breakfast and it has always been a favorite. Unpretentious setting, not very big but usually crowded. Excellent breakfast in a busy atmosphere. If looking for privacy, try somewhere else. Came this time for a late afternoon lunch and was pleasantly surprised. Excellent... read more

We went for breakfast on Sunday morning. There was a wait but we went to the shops nearby to kill time. I had sunnyside up eggs and bacon with toast (my usual). My friends tried a bunch of different things like biscuits with sausage gravy and alligator. All our meals came with hashbrowns. The waitress was very friendly and helpful.... More

Stopped for dinner.....food was good.....the homemade blue cheese dressing was outstanding. But thought it was pricey for a basic meal. Good, not outstanding

We decided to come for breakfast after I read some good reviews. It was a busy Sunday so we waited for 25 minutes. Should have left after the water came out. My boyfriend made a comment, if the water is bad the food is normally bad too. He was right! Water was so bad I could not drink it. The... More

Not the least bit flashy but some of the best meals we had during our Sanibel stay! Everything is made in-house. The sautéed alligator was a fun thing to try and actually very good! We ate here three times for breakfast and once for lunch. Lots of variety on the menu. My husband was thrilled that they had braunschweiger sandwiches,... More

Yesterday we took a break from packing up Mom's house before she moves back north to be closer to her family. Sanibel Island has always been a favorite and a perfect diversion for the day. Arriving at noon, we went straight to the Sanibel Cafe. It is our tradition and has been for close to 30 years. We each ordered... More

Lunch at Sanibel Cafe today, yum. Had the Rusty Pelican, a very tasty sandwich. Had a little trouble getting my order as soon as they figured it out the waitress talked to me about it and expedited the order. They handled the error immediately and I left a happy customer again.

The dinner was above average- service quite spotty. She forgot two items, brought soup too late. Had to be asked for more beverage. Open for dinner only during the areas busy season.

One of the best places, especially enjoyed in the off season (less busy). Perfect place to hit for a breakfast before the beach. Service staff was great and friendly. My wife would almost kill for their coconut french toast. Will visit time and time again.
