Of the three places we had breakfast while in Sanibel, this was our least favorite. I had the french toast sampler... which sounded really interesting until it arrived and I found that all of the almonds and the coconut had been burned during the frying process. Good in theory... not in practice. Kids liked the M&Ms pancakes.

Having been to Sanibel Island a number of times, we decided to try the Sanibel Cafe. This is an establishment we had previously overlooked. the clientele. To be a mix of locals and tourists. After being seated by a very pleasant hostess, we embarked on the chore of selecting from a two-page breakfast menu. While I won't go into detail... More

We came for lunch around noon. We were seated and had only a few seconds to look at menu when she came back to take our order. I asked for a couple of minutes but it took her about 7-8 minutes before she finally came back. The place was not busy at all and the 2 waitresses working that day... More

I liked the tables with the seashell displays. The waitress we had was also wonderful. However the coffee was just awful. Our breakfasts were just okay, nothing spectacular. Would not go out of my way to go there again.

Love, love, love the Coconut French Toast! During our two week vacation we made two stops for breakfast at the Sanibel Cafe. I ordered the Coconut French Toast both times. :)

Service and food was very good. Price was very good for the Island of Sanibel. Would recommend it for a nice breakfast spot.

Sadly, I have to report based on a recent visit a few days ago which was not very pleasing. Our server was not very attentive, she seemed to rush us and the food (a typical eggs and toast breakfast) was bland and the toast ws super tiny without any butter (no butter on the table or was offered). Our visit... More

A small little restaurant in a plaza setting. Great place to have breakfast or lunch with friendly staff. Everything was fresh and delicious. We will definitely be back, just a great place.

You know it must be good when the locals eat there too! The staff is friendly, the breakfast good, and the décor fun to look at (the shells in the table). Last time we went during our trip, the waitress let my husband play the guitar that was hanging on the wall. You can't go wrong if you want simple... More

The menu is full of all the standard options with nothing standout that we noticed, but the meals that we chose were presented nicely and tasted great. Excellent friendly service, and very nice decor and atmosphere.
