This was another place we had scoped out for our Sanibel dining. It was a big plus to us that we had a coupon from the Kiwanis Club giving up to $20 off one of our meals. Mrs. M had the Martinique-jerked pork chop with plantains. Lucky for me, she couldn't eat it all so I got to get a... More

I have been here several times and really enjoyed the food. The service was always good and it is a fun environment. You can pick up a copy of one of the owners books. Doc Ford is a character in Randy Wayne White's many books set in the Sanibel area. We even saw the author himself there once. So that's... More

Cool place! So full of atmosphere. Enough TVs to see any sports event on at one time. The food and service was great! The beard bread was excellent. Sliced steak was excellent as was the grouper sandwich. The place was packed on a Monday night with a wait for tables. Of course, there was Monday Night Football, but I am... More

The Caribbean Jerk Tostadas are perfectly spiced and wonderful. My husband said the Martinique Jerked pork chop (recommended by our waiter Mitch) was the best chop he's ever eaten! If you're visiting Sanibel during the off season (apparently anytime after Labor Day), be sure to try Doc Ford's and a Sanibel Sunset, or two.

We enjoyed Doc’s Our first visit to Doc’s was a great experience! I would recommend it to anyone interested in a good meal and a lively, bustling atmosphere. We went on a Monday night. It was busy, especially for the “off season”. There was nothing about the place I could “dis”. A friend of mine and I shared the Yucatan... More

I've been to Doc's many times, it has never disappointed. It's a great place, and I'll keep going back. Along with grouper, I love clam chowder and this place has excellent tastes in both! The clam chowder is probably second best on the island- the PF has the best but I can't find them on TA to review them. But... More

Doc Ford's is a nice restaurant, with decent food. Prices are little high for what you get. While well-prepared, it was nothing outstanding. Many other restaurants on Sanibel have much more flavor and atmosphere, for far fewer dollars.

Wife and I had Saturday dinner and were rewarded with Great Seafood Paella, soup, etc. Only negative was the mussels were a bit small, but plentiful. All was Great. Service Exceptional and the Atmosphere Relaxed & Casual. Completely at ease and comfortable dining. Everyone we saw were enjoying their food and having a good time. Not too loud, not too... More

Can't really complain about anything specific here but it was certainly not anything special. The food was OK but nothing to write home about. Service was good.
