Great food, drinks, and service!

Third visit this week, a big shout out to our Server Lisa, and eve though she was from Michigan, she did a great job taking care of us. The Deep sea Mahi Mahi was one of the best meals I have ever had!

Our family has been vacationing in Sanibel for the last 7 years and Doc Ford's has never disappointed us! In our opinion, it's one of the best restaurants in both Sanibel and Captiva! Don't miss it!

Ate here 2 nights, and my mom and brother had dessert here one day as well. Very close to where we were staying (Mitchell's Sandcastles). Since it is a rum bar had flights of rum which was unique. I enjoyed the "Sanibel Stoop" the drink they had created, and $1 of the price was given to the children's hospital. We... More

I went in the off season, it was really quiet so we got exceptional service. YOU HAVE TO GET DOC'S BEACH BREAD! It might be my favorite part of our meal! I also got the Mahi Mahi. From start to finish it was an awesome meal!

Every summer after 5PM Mass at St. Isabelle's, we drive across the street to Doc Ford's on Sanibel Island. It's a family tradition. But the past 2 years the service and food quality have lost their edge. Our appetizer of black bean dip was good, not great. My husband's rack of baby ribs was approaching the quality of "fast food."... More

My girlfriends and I went here for dinner after reading all the reviews on trip advisor. We were very disappointed! Service was slow - tables around us sat three different sets of couples before we even received our appetizer. When we got our food it was cold and not very flavorful. We waited so long to get check that manager... More

We stopped by once for lunch, once for dinner, and once for pie during our recent trip to Sanibel. The staff is always friendly and helpful. Any fish entree is delicious. We had the Yucatan shrimp, which is a bit spicy and very tasty, seared tuna, grouper, and fish tacos (these are one of my favorites now). Mojitos and their... More

We ate here twice last year while we were on Sanibel and we made it a point to visit again when we were here this year. Doc Fords did not disappoint again this year. Their shrimp are incredible! We had the Buffalo shrimp appetizer and it was very good as well. It was probably our favorite meal of the week.... More

Had a fisherman tell us about this place. It was very sports bar like, but the food is good and so is the service. My husband had the clam chowder, which he said was one of the best he's ever eaten. I had snapper wrapped in a banana leaf and it was fantastic. My one son had fish tacos and... More

It was busy when we arrived (around 6:15pm), but we were still seated within 5 minutes (2 adults, 2 kids). Staff was friendly and checked on us often; food definitely took a while. Limited vegetarian options. "Beach Bread" was a flop - it was slightly toasted bread (I mean slightly) slopped with a ton of mozzarella cheese and a tiny... More
