There are so many places to eat on the island, but somehow we always eat at Doc Ford's at least once a visit. This time Bob had the Chicken Taco Salad (didn't eat the taco chips). I had the Sanibel Spinach Salad with a cup of Clam Chowder. Both meals were really, really good. In the past, we've tried so... More

Sister visiting from the Keys and staying on Sanibel....I chose Doc Ford's because previously had nice lunch there. Server was new and inexperienced. Two of us had grouper sandwiches....tasty, but much smaller than I remembered. Mussels were also small and uneventful. Shrimp dish....again small leaving son-in-law to leave hungry. For the price I feel the meals had been severly downsized... More

We are a family of five who visited for dinner. The ambiance and service are very appealing. I ordered a crab bisque, and calamari as a appetizer. The calamari was fresh, and the soup was amazing. We also ordered a grouper sandwich, which was also fresh and the real thing (no fish substitution here.) The tropical salad with shrimp was... More

Our favorite foodie place on the island...favorite of friends that live on the island. Good service. I am not a fish eater, but, if you are fish is fresh and prepared creatively as attested to by friends.

I had the shrimp and grits and my daughter had a piece of snapper cooked in a banana leaf. Our meals were so delicious we nearly licked the plates clean. You might want to start with the conch chowder, it was really good, too

It's a little pricey and we had to send back the oysters. (They were full of shells). But the mussels, jerk pork chops, and island shrimp and grits were amazing.

Having been a fan of Randy Wayne White's novels for many years, I had to go to his restaurant. White sometimes works food into his novels and I always go away hungry. Not so at the restaurant he has named after his main character, Doc Ford. I haven't been here since last summer, though the memory of my meal is... More
