Great Lunch

My wife and I stopped in for lunch today, a typically hot day on Sanibel. Inside it was cool but not frigid. Service was prompt and friendly. Food was served hot. The portions were good and tasty. However, prices were somewhat high although not exorbitant by Sanibel/Captiva standards. My wife had... read more

Our last night on Sanibel, we visited Doc Ford's. We were very happy with our experience. Service was outstanding! Waiters in the room seemed to cover for one another. And there was always someone there when we needed them and they were there with a smile. We enjoyed the oysters, black bean dip as appetizers. My husband had a rib... More

We expected this place to be much better. If I were to describe this restaurant in 1 word it would be SALT. I ordered the mahi-mahi and I couldn't eat it, it was so salty. I gave it to my husband and he gave me his Paella. The paella was only fair. No chorizo although it was supposed to have.... More

We enjoyed our dinner on Doc Ford's back patio very much. The restaurant has a nice menu with some unique choices, and there is a great island vibe going on.

Not sure why this place draws such a huge crowd. My friend and I had appetizer, drinks, and an entree and they were all average. My banana leaf wrapped fish was floating in butter or oil. Could not detect which nor the flavor of the fish that is usually delicate when fresh and of the native to florida variety. The veggies... More

Recently went to Doc's for probably the 20th time or so. Four adults...two entrees, one salad, one sandwich, two appetizers, two pieces of Key lime pie, no liquor, one tea, two lemonades. Cole slaw was bland and more than likely just a scoop out of a huge pre-bought bag. Bill was $160...you're good but not that good.

Usually we have gone here for dinner but instead we went for lunch. We had yucatan Shrimp tacos without the spicy sauce and a grilled grouper sandwich. Plus 2 lemonades. Our bill was $ 38.05. I had cole slaw as a side which was so good The other side was black beans and rice. We love this place. Good service... More
