We spent several nights in Sanibel and were disappointed with the quality of food and service at every restaurant until we took a trip to Doc Ford's. It was the night of my father's engagement and our last night in Sanibel, so the 6 of us got dressed up and drove around until we spotted Doc Ford's. Not only was... More

Charmed by the Fort Myers Beach waterfront Doc Ford's, we were very disappointed when we visited the Sanibel location. The atmosphere was typical generic sports bar, which could have been anywhere, the service was rushed and the food was just average at best. Our disinterested server asked us if he could take our order after he had already taken it.... More

Doc Fords is usually our first stop for a meal after unpacking. This was our second meal here this season and could be our last. The reason being the raw oysters. I even asked how fresh but not the sixe during this visit. To my surprise about half of the dz oysters ordered were the size of a nickel and... More

We stopped for a late lunch after a day in the Ding Darling Sanctuary nearby. There was a wait of about 15 minutes even in midafteroon and we expected that the food would be worth the time in line. Unfortunately that was not the case. The tables were very close together - almost uncomfortably so. The place was very noisy... More

Five of us came here for a late lunch after visiting Ding Darling Wildlife Sanctuary. Great shaded patio for outdoor seating. Friendly wait staff. We enjoyed our Shrimp Tacos, Grouper Reuben, steamed shrimp and grilled grouper sandwich. Their key lime pie is made on the premises and is amazing. Don't miss it! It was the perfect spot to kick back... More

I was not a salad eater but the baby spinach salad I had at Doc Ford's reformed me! So this place is not only for tarpon fisherman ;)

While the restaurant is a pleasant place and the servers were friendly and efficient, the food was terrible. The fish tacos were disgusting, with the fish a strange mushy, steamed texture and the rest of the taco filled with pieces of soft fruit. The "highly rated" grouper sandwich was the same; the fish seemed steamed and unappealing. Go to Doc... More

We had lunch there yesterday. Recommend the fish tacos and rum drinks. Good service and food. Restaurant has ample indoor and outdoor seating. Interesting history and great location near Ding Darling National Presetve.

My shrimp tacos were delicious! Just the right amount of spicy! My husband had the lobster roll. That was great too.
