I never get past the Dinkin's Bay Boil. The shrimp are very messy to eat, but this is the real deal! Old Bay seasoning, butter, shrimp. Nothing fancy, just the best! May have to go back right now!

If you like your food especially your fish spicy, please go here. They are doing a great job. However if you are like I am, coming from a place were fish is always available, fish should taste like fish, not like spice. Anyway, otherwise their beer is ok, nothing great. Hope you enjoy the ride to this restaurant.

We ate here the last day of our vacation a big disappointment. So many good eateries around that you would waste your time eating here. Food less than average. Wait staff ok but just ok. Too expensive for what you get. Houlahans blows this place away if you catch my drift. Ohh well lesson learned. Will never return.

I visit Sanibel annually and make a point to stop by Doc Ford's on Sanibel to have the Yucatan Shrimp and Beach Bread. As usual, I was not disaapointed. The Corona was ice cold and the shrimp was spicy, but not too spicy.

My wife and I stopped in for dinner on a Monday night in August. Like most of the other restaurants we visited it was busy but there was no wait. We ordered the shrimp quinoa salad and fried shrimp. The shrimp quinoa salad was a surprise find and good but didn't come with the mixed vegetables as advertised. The disappointment... More

Drinks were ok, but pricey. Food was terrible. Locals do not go, this is for tourist and those who do not care if food is fresh.

About the only complaint is that the menu is a bit small if you don't love seafood. I ended up with tostadas and a caprese salad and the spouse had a Cuban sandwich. We shared the three dishes and it was a good amount for an early dinner. My sons had a burger and the ribs. The ribs were the... More

We live in cape coral and stop here once and awhile on our motorcycle ride ride through Sanibel. It's convenient and easy to find. Very clean. There's indoor and outdoor seating. The food has always been great. Several drinks to choose from. Great selection of a menu, from seafood to burgers. Very family friendly. The staff is nice and friendly.... More

I see this is the 3rd time I have reviewed Doc Fords; it's just that good!! We are Ok with the TVs and family atmosphere. Our favs: shrimp and grits, ribs, mahi-mahi and the snapper. The service was a little slow one night but fast the next time. Doc Fords is the top of our list.

My wife and I were visiting Sanibel for the first time and had numerous recommendations as to the best places on the island to eat. After taking a look at several menus online, we settled on Doc Ford's for our first dinner out, and I'm glad we did. Doc Ford's is, I suppose, a bit of a sports bar with... More
