We stopped for lunch while on the island, it was a very good lunch, beer was very cold and fresh, service was very good.
We have been to Doc Fords three times on our visits to Sanibel . The food is excellent. Large well flavored portions. We had the quinoa salad with grilled shrimp, the 1/2 chicken, the rib eye the planked salmon and the paella. All were delicious. We had a friendly server named Mark and a manager named Geoff was very pleasant... More
I spent a nice evening after Luminaria on Captiva Island at Doc Fords on Sanibel with my mom. The bartender in the second room (not the main room), Shawn, was super friendly. I had the Island Mojito... its sweeter than I'm used to, but pretty good. It was a nice environment to watch the FSU game and spend time with... More
We spent 4 days on Sanibel and ate here 2 times. We really enjoyed it! They even had my favorite liquor B & B.
First time back since spring but things have have not changed. Some of the best food and drink in SW Florida. If you want a bar / restaurant atmosphere second to none go to Doc Fords!!
Spent a day shelling and sunning on Sanibel and stopped in at Doc Fords for lunch, the waitress was really nice and provided excellent service, she recommend the yucatan shrimp and that is what we ordered and it was amazing!! Succulent and spicy I would order this again in a heart beat. We ordered the pound of shrimp and it... More
Sports bar type atmosphere with very good food. Their panko crusted fish sandwich is very good as is the cole slaw. We also shared shrimp salad that was great. Can be noisy at dinner but lunch is a good option to avoid noise if that is a concern.
We enjoy our annual meal at Doc Ford's during Spring Break vacation. The kids enjoy the food and the atmosphere. During the "March Madness" NCAA basketball tourney, we witnessed the FGCU-Georgetown upset game while eating at Doc's, and the place went wild. Dunk City indeed! The menu has a few interesting offerings: the Shrimp I liked, and the Ribs were... More
Enjoyed the service and location. The bar band was great too. Food selection is good. I had the snapper. Was pretty good. My husband enjoyed the ribs. Wish it were warmer to enjoy being outside listening to the band!
