Still good

This is always one of our first restaurants we visit when we arrive. Service is always prompt and professional and friendly. The food is well prepared, there is a great selection and the chowder is excellent.

Visited here for lunch and sat at the bar. Service was good. Food was decent enough. Just not anything special. Place is always busy as it is just off the main road. Typical island pub fare of conch chowder, burgers, fish and salads. We shared conch chowder which was just ok. We also shared a salad which was very good.... More

The atmosphere was very nice - with the double dining room set up and the decorations were very cool. The food was great too. The wait was a bit long but not terrible and the staff was all excellent. Overall a very good experience.

This place had pretty good food and was fun. However, we were charged $40 for an appetizer! Our dinner was soup and sandwiches. We also had dessert, but when the bill came, we were told our off-the-menu appetizer was $40 and there was no adjustment at all. Don't go to this restaurant and don't order anything without first being assured... More

We love Doc Ford's. We eat at both the one on Sanibel and on Captiva. There are slight variations on the menus. There are flatbread sandwiches at the Captiva one. And they are so good. The Conch chowder is the best on the island and we really enjoy the Doc's special fish sandwich. Of course the drinks are great and... More

My brother and I lunched at Doc Ford's while we were sightseeing in the vicinity with our mother. Although the restaurant was busy, the staff quickly accommodated Mom in her wheelchair and they found a convenient table for us right away. We were well supported by attentive service from then on. Our food was great (I particularly liked the conch... More

We were staying in Sanibel with friends for a 30th Anniversary. As it turned out the weather was "hurricane" worthy. We made the best of it and Doc Ford's added to the "Best" part. Diverse menu- Great bar and wonderful ambiance.

I ordered the taco salad, the chips were stale, I got the core of the lettuce. Just overall, blech.... My husband ordered the Cuban, he said the meat was good, but the bread was dry and stale. The waitress was good, not her fault

Everything was perfect. Chris, our waiter was very knowledgeable and very accomadating and friendly. The Conch Chowder was outstanding, a little spacey yet perfect for me. The fish sandwich special was very good. The prices were right in line with the overall quality and service. If you go there you will most likely go back.
