We went to Doc Ford's twice on our recent trip. The first time was for drinks and appetizers on the deck. The second time was for dinner inside. We always go to Doc Ford's at least once on our trips to Sanibel. The food is always great, and the prices are reasonable. If you like Rum, try the Zaya. I also love the Doc Ford novels, and it is always exciting to see Randy Wayne White there! more
Yes! and the drinks were tasty too, although a bit light handed. Nice eclectic and creative menu, not too pricey for interesting food, nice atmosphere. more
Doc fords is by far the best restaurant on the island.. The prices are competative/more reasonable that most of the others and the food is REALLY good.. I loved the yucatan shrimp on 2 separate occasions and my husband enjoyed their cuban sandwhich. Drinks were not weak either.. Definatly # 1!! more

We have been to Sanibel many times and no where have I found the food to be a good as Doc Fords. Just there a week ago and still consistently great. If you like scallops (not on the menu but usually a special) they are to die for! more
