After a week of fish and shrimp we definitely decided it was time for pasta and we weren't disappointed. A nice family style eatery, with a make your own pasta - pick sauce then pasta. We both had the meat sauce, different kinds of pasta both were wonderful. Not too crazy about the garlic spread they bring with the warm... more

Spent four days on Captiva with Under_Girl and in my pre-trip notes I had scribbled "Matzaluna - good pizza. Per: Granny's friend Pat." So what did I order on my ill-advised trip to Matzaluna? The Crab Bisque followed by a Chicken Parmesan of course. The bisque was an orange, I think garlicy, buttery mixture. It had the consistency of nacho... more

We loved our visit to Matzaluna. Nice selection of food, and all priced well....especially the kid's meals. Bread was excellent, as was the spaghetti/meatballs (kids) and the penne pomodoro pasta meal. Ambiance is great - nicely decorated, very friendly and helpful servers. Great meal! more

We were staying on Captiva and customarily ordered our pizza from the now gone Mama Rosa's. So, upon advice of another vacationer, we ordered from Matzaluna. We ordered a pizza per person and that was the right portion size. They were each excellent and though my favorite pizza had a lot of garlic, the heavy garlic turned off some of... more

My husband and I were looking for a nice casual restaurant that had good food but reasonable on the price. This was exactly the place to go! My husband had Chicken Parm. while I had a Margarita pizza. It was great! more

We thoroughly enjoyed our food. The pizza was incredible. Our server was engaging and good. The prices were a welcome relief after dining at several other more expensive restaurants on the Island. We were really glad we went and would go back in a heartbeat for great food at a very good price. more

We had a wonderful romantic anniversary dinner here. The food was soooo good. We loved the butcher paper table cloths for doodling. We chose a romance theme and had a lovely tablecloth by the time the meal was served. The bread and roasted garlic served first was very good, we had to make ourselves stop eating so we'd have room... more

My husband and I ate here twice during our stay and both times it was delicious. We enjoyed the atmosphere of the restaurant as well. We ate on the second floor and the pictures on the walls and the food items incorporated into the decorating were so neat. We look forward to visiting again on our trip next year. more

We came here once in 2007 and we loved it. I wasn't as impressed this time. Service was really slow and we were seated at 5pm and the place was close to empty. The food was OK. I seem to remember it was better a few years ago. The fresh bread with olive oil and roasted garlic is a nice... more

Growing up in an Italian family and even having an Italian deli in my family I tend to stay away from these types of restaurants outside the Midwest or Northeast, but I have to say Matzaluna was a great surprise that I recommend to anyone. I had the 4 cheese chicken and it was THREE grilled breasts, with some greens,... more
