It was my boyfriends birthday and we decided to celebrate at Il Tesoro. Service was friendly and gave perfect suggestions. We ordered the Faggotini for an appetizer. The brown butter and fresh sage sauce was outstanding! Bread is served with a roasted red pepper olive oil, which was so delicious we ordered more bread. My boyfriend ordered the Contadina di... Il Tesoro on Sanibel is a small quiet place with great staff and food. I have been to both the Sanibel and NYC restaurants and while both are excellent, you would expect such in NYC but be hesitant in Sanibel. However, Il Tesoro in Sanibel brings that true Italian flavor to the island with flair. Great to have a table... More

It is so worth your while to take the time and find this gem on such a great island. The food was just perfect and we were treated as if we were the only people in the restaurant. Excellent service and the food was even better. It may be a small building but the chef makes it all so great.

We went for our anniversary dinner. I had been there once before at Christmas season and liked it the first time. This trip I was no so impressed. The food was okay. Our waiter seemed disengaged. It is loud and if you dont mind being packed in cheek to jowel you may find it acceptable. We did not stay for... More

It's the best Italian restaurant outside of New York, and there happens to an Il Tesoro in New York, too! I had the small plate dinner entree of polenta with bolognese sauce on top and my husband had the salmon special. Both were amazingly delicious. Definitely going to make this a regular place to eat as we live here year... More

my mom and I went here this week for dinner. It was excellent. we did not find it by trip advisor as they were not ranked high, so we did not even see it on here. it should be ranked #1. it's just a small place, but with allot of character including our waiter Joe-who was excellent and also Stephen.... The atmosphere was cozy while offering a highly authentic Italian cuisine and a similarly authentic relaxed pace of dining. The food was stunning, fresh and generous. Every item on the menu is tempting, and your greatest worry is how to narrow your selection. The pork and gnocchi was perfectly executed with crispy braised pork. Reservations are highly recommended since there... More

Worth it. Every bite. Order the pasta - it is housemade.... Ordered soup, salad and entree. Quaint place for quiet evening.

This restaurant with low ceilings and uneven floors has great character; food and service to match. I loved being greater by the bowl of fresh olives and antipasto goodies behind the counter when arriving. The atmosphere is cozy, the food is well prepared, the wine choices were not the same old same old. Look this one up for sure when... More

We just love the antipasto at Il Tesoro. It comes with a nice variety of seafood, veggies, meats and cheeses, and each item is prepared in its own special way, seasoned perfectly. The eggplant is amazing, but then again so is the calamari and pretty much everything else. We followed that with two excellent pasta dishes, made with fresh pasta of... More
