Our group had a variety of meals from lasagna to lamb osso bucco to lobster ravioli. All of it was excellent.
This is one of our favorite restaurants on Sanibel. It's in a charming house, and the owners are always so sweet. The food has always been spot on, particularly the lamb osso bucco.
We came down to Sanibel for a short 4 night vacation. We planned on finding a nice restaurant to go to for at least one of the nights. We did some research, asked a few locals there opinions and decided on Il Tesoro's. We made a reservation (just yesterday) and when we arrived had a short wait, the aromas outside... More
Spent the last couple of months on Sanibel and leaving for home tomorrow. Happily we had our best meal last night in our favorite restaurant, Il Tesoro. We make a point to go here every couple of weeks because the owners are welcoming and accommodating. The wait staff is very kind and confirm our drink order before we even ask... More
The waiter was a real jerk with a bad attitude . The restaurant was hot and uncomfortable. Food was fairy good but all was over shadowed by the BAD service and the heat.
2nd trip to Captiva & 2nd trip to Il Tesoro. Won't miss a visit again next year. Great Italian food comes out of the open kitchen hot and steamy. All pasta was perfect - sauces and seafood delicious. Sautéed lobster tail & fried arugula was a wow. Salmon special with a red sauce very tasty & unique. The desserts -... More
You'd be hard pressed to find better Italian fare on Sanibel or anywhere in Florida for that matter than Il Tesoro. It was outstanding from start to finish. The restaurant is small so it's imperative that you make a reservation in advance. Unless you were to dine early, it didn't seem conducive to hosting small children. The tables are relatively... More
My husband and I recently tried Il Tesoro while in Sanibel for the night. So glad we did. It was so fun to have dinner in such a non-touristy place. It really does feel like a cool little neighborhood restaurant. SO tired of chains. We were sincerely greeted in the small entrance and got to see a beautiful selection of... More
Visited this restaurant because of a groupon. With the half off groupon, it was priced fairly, otherwise not so much. The Sea Bass was excellent, but the average size portion for $30 and no accompaniments was over priced in my opinion. Also, it is genuinely Italian and family run, but no one was friendly, especially our waiter! He wasn't rude,... More
