Great Italian food if you are patient

After repeated attempts to book a table by phone for Tesoro we booked by Open Table. We arrived at 8:40 for a 8:30 reservation and found everyone very busy for 5 minutes not even asking us do we have a reservation. The "manager" then told us we have to wait and offered us the wine card. We chose... read more

I really don't understand why this restaurant receives mixed reviews on Trip Advisor. We're big fans of high-end Italian cuisine. We live in New England and we've dined at I'l Tesoro on each of our past two trips to Captiva. Each time it has delivered an excellent dinner. The other night, my wife started with the octopus and I started... More

I could have been in a little trattoria in Tuscany..food was sooo good and service to be commended. Only thing they need to do is play some Italian music in background instead of what they play at present.

An old country feel. Italian named dishes and accented server are an authentic touch. Language miscue resulted in undercooked penne without clams n mussels instead of with the shellfish. Ice t was unidentified herbal infused. Wine only. Parmesan n coffee cream only on request. Tomato sauce too spicy for our taste.

last wednesday we went to il tesoro with a groupon. inside was a litlle bit dark and noisy , you can not clearly see what you are eating . We went there @ 7.05pm and after starter, main course and dessert we went out @ 7.55 pm that is a bit to fast... but that's maybe the different between the... More

The food was good. But, an essential ingredient of a fine dining experience is the service...and our waiter was sullen, disinterested, and unengaged. When you interact with a normal human being, you expect normal human responses. Our waiter poured our water and I said, "Thank you" and his response wasn't "You're welcome" or "My pleasure" -- which is how a... More

My server was excellent but by looking at him I could tell he was sick. I've been in the service industry as a server long enough to know when I see an ill server. Dont make your employees work the floor when they are sick and you won't have to worry about bad reviews!! Simple as that. Food was excellent... More

My friends who live in Cape Coral made a reservation for my last night visiting them and was extremely impressed. They were able to accommodate additional guests with very little wait time. The manager was exceptional and very friendly to our party of 5. She checked on us along the whole dinner experience and made sure we were having the... More

Just off the main road of the popular Sanibel-Captiva Island area is a sweet little Italian restaurant with delicious food and a nice wine selection. While waiting for our table we were entertained with "the dance of the chefs" as they feverishly prepared and plated the dishes. The dining area is small, rustic and charming. Service was efficient and pleasant... More

A quite family meal on a Sunday evening turned into a fiasco. The food was not as others reviewed "exceptional" but tolerable. With this alone we would have never provided a review. What really sponsored this review was the waiter, Joe. With a personality of a toad and the smell of cigarette permeating from him we all lost our appetite.... More
