Wonderful Reatuarant

Lovely food prepared lovingly. Intimate restaurant where one can feel alone but with others not intruding.

make a reservation! It's worth it. The food was great, I had canneloni and my husband had fish. Service was wonderful.

The owner (AJ Black) was unconcerned with the fact that we were overcharged by $200 for our dinner (one couple dining alone) in December 2014. The food and initial experience was very good but the owner would not consider our complaint and ignored our requests for a resolution. The first manager we spoke with indicated that they would resolve the... More

After awhile, the food on Sanibel Island becomes monotonous. But not at Il Tesoro. My wife , daughter and I thought this was a great little restaurant for authentic Italian food. This is a small place that can only hold about 45 inside. We shared two appetizers (meatballs w/ greens & polenta w/ Bolognese) that were very fresh and delightful.... More

I can't believe anyone would return to this restaurant .The waiter was not very attentive to us.Never ask us if we would like a drink oh after being seated for at least 15 minutes.THe food was mediocre at best.the menu's were misleading.the pork chop over polenta was tough and tasteless .The lasagna looked like manicotti and what the menu suggested... I called Wednesday during the day and left a message that I wanted to make a reservation for that night. By 5:30 no one had called me back, so I called again and explained to the girl on the phone that I had called twice and no one returned my call. She asked what time we wanted to come in... More

This was our first visit to Il Tesoro and we were not disappointed! Appetizers were exceptional - arancini (rice balls) and Faggotini (stuffed pasta "purses") were our choices. The arancini were the best we've ever had stuffed with bacon, cheese and rice. The pasta "purses" were delicious as well. All four of us had pasta for dinner. Each dish was... More

The antipasto platter is fantastic. Our entire family looks forward to coming her every year. Very ambitious menu for a tiny place.

Inconsistent would be the one word I would use to describe this tiny hard to find restaurant- The appetizer pillows of goat cheese with pear were phenomenal but they were out of the butternut risotto and the mushroom risotto was so heavy on garlic and sported only button mushrooms! A very expensive 25$ risotto was so disappointing as was the... More

One of the few authentic Italian restaurants on the island. Meals are quite expensive and forget about adding wine, your tab will skyrocket. Delicious antipasto! highly suggest this appetizer it's $20 and serves two people. I thought I would treat myself with the appetizer lobster ravioli for $19 thinking I would also share it with my fellow dinner friends. When... More
