We are moving within a block of this restaurant and were so excited we could walk to a Thai restaurant to eat. We went for lunch. The prices were cheap but so was the quality of the food. We had Pad Thai and it tasted like they drenched it in ketchup. The noodles were under cooked and the chicken was... More

I first went to Hooks within the past six months, and have been back several times. The food is fantastic. My only complaint, as others have pointed out, is the parking. I haven't had the same bad service others are claiming to have experienced, but it is nothing spectacular.

Haven't been here in about 8 months. Food and service were always consistent and excellent. Disappointing experience this trip. Waiter was sarcastic and unfriendly. No attention to our party of 4. Forgot items - we needed to ask other wait staff for assistance. Tuna and Salmon Shashimi were tasteless, dry and tough. Steamed dumplings were very large, thick and gooey... More

My wife and I love Sushi and although we have lived in St. Petersburg for more than six years we have never tried Hook's - until last night. We arrived on a Friday evening at about 7:45 pm to find the parking lot - a very small one - full. However, we were able to find on street parking. First,... More

If you haven't tried this place put down what you're doing and go! Wednesday night is dollar sushi so either go early or plan to park in a lot down the street. We sat at the bar so didn't have to wait for a table. Everything I had was delicious!

Wanted to try, unfortunately lack of parking space or no parking. Not even more than 5 parking spaces for the customer.

Briefly we have always made it a point to go there whenever we get to St. Pete, about a couple times/year. However, things changed last time we were there. Food was good, just not as good. On the positive side they condensed their menu that was WAY to big (actually given 3-4 different menus I felt obligated to read in... More

My family and I visit Hook's at least two or three times a month, and it is by far the best sushi in the area. We love that it has local historical ties, and that it is a small quaint restaurant that has good "couples" atmostphere. There aren't a lot of small children and loud crowds. They have flat screen... I have to be honest. It is pricey for what you get. Often I have been to local sushi restaurants that served nigiri and sashimi that was not flavorful and much stronger tasting. However, at $5 or more a serving I also expected uniform slicing. Not the one large/one small sort if thing I experienced here. Starting with the edemame,... More

This was the first time going to the restaurant. My server Brooke was great. She took care of me and suggest a roll and brought over the special sauce which is amazing! I would totally recommend getting a side of their special sauce! Will be returning when I am back in town!
