I was first introduced to this timeless burger gem over 20 years ago. I've eaten here alone , with DH, with many friends and family and sometimes shared a basket of fries with other single diners. Besides the friendly atmosphere, the food, specifically, the cheeseburgers, are always among my favorites. In all the times I've eaten here, I have never... More

The El Cap was a great local bar, the burgers were good/very good. They used crisp lettuce, juicy tomatoes, the meat was good. I am always looking for the perfect/best burger...while this was good, I wouldn't put it onto the best category. The bar and service were great neighborhood/dive/sports type place. Would definitely recommend going to this place for food... More

If you are looking for a fancy restaurant, move on down the road. El Cap is a local favorite for it's flavorful food as well as their employees! The chef is amazing and always come out to say hello and thanks his guests for coming in…..and he means it!

Am finicky about my burgers....demanding is maybe more exact. I wants the right temperature my toppings only and in the right ratio and now that am trying to be gluten free'ish ( it does matter) I need lots of cheese so it doesn't go to waste stuck on the bun. When my little beauty appeared I was a little doubtful.... More

I hear this place is off the hook... It's not. It's ok but I didn't leave thinking I couldn't wait to go back. It's a good average burger with a lot more hype than it deserves.

I'm a regular every time I visit St Petersburg. Not only do they have the juiciest burger their wings are meaty and crispy on the outside and moist inside. El Cap is a must visit

El Cap has been around for decades on N 4th Street in St. Petersburg. Known mostly by locals who return time after time for some of the best burgers to be found in the area. Indoor, Outdoor, and Bar seating available. Sports TV's and Sports memorabilia line the walls. El Cap is a no-frills, down-home, local favorite. A throwback to... More

Good: Simply a good, greasy cheese burger. I found myself wanting to order another one, but I realized that I would likely pay for that later. Onion rings were just ok. Bad: Nothing. Ugly: Nothing.

My husband and I eat here every few weeks. We always get the same thing: he gets the cheeseburger and I get the grilled chicken sandwich. Both are juicy with FRESH onions and tomato with your choice of cheese. We share a basket of fries. A good choice if that is the kind of food you like in a sports... More

This established St.Pete diner/ sports bar is known for their hamburgers. Price is around $5 for what is listed as world's best hamburger. I find one is not quite enough, but two for me is too much. Maybe you and a friend can share a second as well as the fries. I read through other reviews and disagreed with many.... More
