Great food at great prices

This Tex-Mex place surprised me, as I have never seen Mofungo in a Tex-Mex place, but you have to try the Seafood Mofungo, or even the Mofungo appetizer. Great service, cold beer, great food, good prices, who could ask for more? A nice gem in the middle of downtown St. Pete.

First, I must say that our server Jessica was amazing. She was very helpful, attentive, and friendly. I got a grouper dish with field greens. Both the grouper & the greens were delicious. My husband got a crab & shrimp chile relleno special that he enjoyed. We shared a pitcher of margaritas. The taste was different but good. The chocolate... More

One of our "go-to" places in St Petersburg, Red Mesa has been serving delicious south western fare for over 15 years. As another reviewer mentioned, this is NOT typical Mexican food. It is Texan with a Mexican slant - much as you will find in the South West U.S. We have always had excellent service and well-prepared food here.

The fare is based on the Southwest USA except the meals are more suffiticated then the typical chilies, burritos, or tacos. You will be pleasently surprised and I'm sure you will enjoy!

Most people in St Petersburg love the food here, but it's not my favorite. Eaten here twice this year and it's not the typical Mexican dishes. The last time I got the salad and it was very good.

We stopped here after the Farmer's market and were seated outside quickly. Margaritas made by hand were phenomenal. Service was great. I wasn't a fan of the fish taco but the pulled pork was amazing! Little pricey on the tacos as you get one for about $5. Definitely try the corn on the cob and mofongo!

It had been a few years since my last visit to Red Mesa, but having remembered their duck enchiladas, I figured we could give it a go. With baby in tow, the crowd was a little off-putting, but let it be known, RED MESA IS WORTH ANY WAIT. Appetizer, entrees, dessert all blew me out of the water. Incredible. It... More

Enjoyed a late dinner here with friends. The pitchers of Margaritas and Sangria were amazing and a great deal. The fried plantains were fantastic. The environment is fun, but a little dark so clearly made for a younger crowd. Our waiter Jesse was great and we overall loved our experience.

Good food, fun location, and excellent drinks. We had the three dip started with the guacamole, cheese dip, and bean dip. All were good, loved the salsa. I had the chicken burrito and it was delicious. It can get really busy so make sure to get your name in early.

MESA (me-sa), noun - an isolated flat-topped hill with steep sides, found in landscapes with horizontal strata. In rock climbing, once you reach the summit you experience the exhilaration, the conquest and the view! At Red Mesa, once you reach for your fork you experience the exhilaration, the conquest and the taste! As you disembark your land conveyance vehicle and... More
