Description: Maximo Seafood Shack is open Wednesday through Sunday from 10:00 to 7:00. We serve lunch between 11:30 and 4:00, which includes our famous half pound grouper sandwich, half pound grouper bites, steamed shrimp, steamed Cedar Key clams, scallop baskets and smoked fish spread. After 4:00 we have a limited menu until close, which is the same as lunch with the exception of the grouper sandwich and steamed Cedar Key clams. On Saturday we have additional lunch specials that are off the menu. We are a fresh seafood market and offer the freshest local seafood around, all which is filleted right on site.

Went with some friends we got grouper sandwiches and a couple pounds of stone crab claws. Everything was delicious, I am a Florida native and the grouper was one of the best I've ever had. We came the day after stone crab season opened so the crab were in the water the day before, they we're unbelievable. The service by... More

This is the quintessential seafood shack, always named a Must See in Tampa. You have to ask where it is or you'll never find it. Walk around to the Harbor Master's office and keep going. The menu is very limited, but what they do, they do perfectly. The grouper sandwich, grouper bites, and fried oysters are fabulous. The service is... More

Always on the lookout for a great grouper sandwich. Look no further. Love the atmosphere - at the end of a dock overlooking the water. Service very friendly. Worth the drive from St. Pete beach. Can't wait to go back.

Great small place literally on the dock. The hubs and I stopped here for lunch on our way back from the beach. I had the grouper sandwich which was amazing, and the hubs had the grouper bites and was enthralled with the! Staff was friendly and Sassy the dog was a wonderful hostess. Had a wonderful time sitting inside chatting... More

It really is a little shack at the end of the dock. You can come by boat or land. Dine in your flip flops at tables overlooking the marina. We arrived after 4pm so we were told that the menu is more limited than if we had arrived earlier. We had their fried grouper bites and fish spread which was... More

What a great afternoon stop! On the water, fresh caught, cold beer, seafood! I stopped by this place on my way to beach on weekend and will definately be back again -Once we were seated we were brough coozies for our beer and asked our names. Very personable service. The fish that is prepared at this little shack is locally... More

This has to be the best grouper sandwich anywhere and sitting at a table on the dock just can't get any better. But one big question...why no grouper sandwich after 4 pm. We would love to go there many times but at 6 pm, but no sandwich ...bummer !!

Thank you for your review. We do not currently cook grouper sandwiches after 4:00 because of the lack of business traffic after 4:00. We shut down the main grill at 4:00 but do continue to serve grouper bites, steamed shrimp, fried oysters and smoked fish spread until 7:00 p.m. We are considering extending hours for the main grill in the... Great food with very unusual location. Might be the smallest place you will eat or drink at. The reason for my title is that this place will not be able to handle fame. There just isn't enough room and if a lot of people start to go we will lose. Signed selfish not shellfish

This place is nothing to write about from the outside, it's a little shack on the water! However the food is amazing. I ordered the fried oysters and they were the best I have had. Great flavor. My friends had the grouper sandwich and raved about it. My GF had the grouper bites and they were just as amazing. Cannot... More

My wife and I both got the blackened grouper sandwich, based on the reviews below. All I can say is wow! The atmosphere and the smell of the smoker running through. The sight of all of the dishes served was absolutely amazing - like in a mouth watering kind of way, not like parsley on the side of the plate... More
