Cassis is a bit of a surprise in downtown Sarasota with a inviting room and a varied menu that offers some appealing selections. A great place for lunch.

Lets cut to the chase: This bakery is amazing. Okay, now a little more explanation. Cassis Bakery is next door to Cassis Brasserie. If the Brasserie is the big brother, the bakery is the little bakery who totally shows up the big brother. I'm not the biggest fan of the brasserie. I think its food is boring, under seasoned and... We enjoyed lunch recently at Cassis with friends who had been there before. It was our first trip, but it won't be our last. I had the creamy delicious Salmon Chowder (thick with fish...ummmmm) and a Half Mixed Berry Salad. Lynn had Cassis Fish & Chips which she really liked. The atmosphere reminds one of a fine dining New York... More

This place has such a lovely setting, but they can't even make a good cocktail anymore. I don't believe the drinks had any alcohol in them and I have had better tasting drinks at more casual places. I can't even get a decent mojito at this place. I keep wanting this place to be better. But I give up.

Enjoyed a delightful breakfast for two on a recent Sunday. We ordered the egg white omelette with asparagus & goat cheese. It truly was mouth watering good. The breakfast potatoes were seasoned just right as well. We also enjoyed a glass of their hand squeezed OJ so yummy! Warning to fellow weight watchers: The portions are hearty so you may... More

The weather had cooled a lot so it was time to sit outside and enjoy the view and the passersby. I had the chicken quesadillas which were very good and plentiful. The service was spot-on and so I could recommend Cassis anytime.

I've been here at least 4 times...including for breakfast, lunch and dinner (not in the same day, heh). Breakfast was lacking in my opinion, as well as in the opinion of my tablemates, so I wouldn't suggest Cassis for breakfast. Lunches and dinners have all been good. The food quality is high overall, service is usually average to above average.... More

We went there after visiting the Dali's museum. Excellent location, beautiful place, fresh and clean ambiance but...no correlation with the food. When you expect the quality of a plate in accordance to $$$ the price, I must tell this was a robbery. For the kids we ordered grilled shrimps. The plate has 5 medium size shrimps. They kept looking for... More

This restaurant is pretty good, the seafood tower which is not on the menu is a definite must. The sorbets and ice creams can't be beat either.

We had tried to get in this restaurant during the busy winter season for lunch and it was packed. Now I know why! The food is excellent- freshly prepared, unique dishes! The waitstaff is very knowledgeable and helpful! Tried the hummus, beet salad, and a freshly prepared sausage. My son had some of their homemade ice cream that was awesome!... More
