I live a couple blocks away from cantina, so perhaps am biased. However, I love this place and my fav menu items! I sat in the courtyard today thinking it should be a travel mag highlight!! The motulenos is to die for, as are the $4 mimosas!! Delicious for brunch or whatever time of day it is

We stopped at Red Mesa in St. Pete when on our way to the Tampa Bay Rays game and we were not disappointed, in fact, I would've almost rather stayed and had a few more rounds of drinks! The atmosphere is fantastic for a grown-ups night out and the food is to die for - gourmet tapas like the ahi... More

Man, after hearing so many great things for so long about this place, I was sure we couldn't go wrong. I was so, so disappointed. SERVICE: Arrived for a weekday lunch just before noon, and it was already filling up. Seating was quick, but our waiter already seemed stressed and overwhelmed. He was visibly sweating and breathing heavily. It took... More

Visiting the area and was referred to this place. Fantastic open brick building and open patio with fountain. Great outdoor bar area. Places was packed with a long wait, but good opportunity to have a few cocktails outside. Not an overly complex upscale Mexican menu, but they do it right. Great food!

Early lunch on a rainy day..very pleasant server recommended the Friday special, arroz con pollo. We sat outside. Overall, a nice experience. I think this is more of a night spot. The food was good. Great outdoor seating during cooler weather.

If you're in the Tampa Bay area and have a craving for Mexican, I suggest you calm it with Red Mesa! Good quality food that I would recommend to anyone.

We like to get the wonderful and unique tacos - like Ahi tuna or duck. But we always start with the mofungo - it's the best. They also have great entrees - the portions are quite large.

My partner and I visited Red Mesa Cantina when in the Tampa area for a long weekend. We are lovers of Mexican food and always try to find some local place we don’t have at home to try when out of town. We picked Red Mesa based on 1) the reviews on this site, and 2) a lucha libre theme... More

Our server was amazing the whole staff were friendly and happy to help. The atmosphere is fun and trendy. The food was only so-so I have had better, but still good and filling! Price is just right for the food but the fact that they will charge you a minimum of $10 (more if over 10 people in party) to... More

Our party ordered a variety of entrees so we could all sample several. My personal favorite was the oyster taco with the seafood burrito coming in at a close second. Several of the dishes were a bit too spicy for my gringo taste buds, but I learned that they can tailor the selections to tone them down a bit for... More
