Great spot for outdoor dining

Visited for dinner while on vacation in St. Pete. The food was good and the outdoor dining was even better! Great spot to hang out for an evening and enjoy a few drinks!

My wife, daughter and I had lunch today at Red Mesa Cantina because we wanted Mexican/Spanish food and was going to the Dali Museum near this restaurant. We all shared a HUGE plate of Nacho Sanchez (Tortilla chips - topped with refried beans, chile queso, pico de gallo, crema and pickled jalapeños- $9 with grilled steak added- $3) which can... More

My husband and I decided to eat here after hearing a lot of buzz about it. The ambiance is amazing. Water features everywhere, a little footbridge across the water. Our server was very knowledgeable and the food came out in an acceptable amount of time. The cocktails are a little pricey but worth it! Loved the sangria. Live music on... More

The atmosphere is to die for: open air, house/lounge music, water features, greenery and a constant buzz of people. We were a group of 6, and tend to be a challenging bunch, yet I found the service on point considering how busy they were. The flavors were fresh and well concepted although the drinks were a little weak for my... More

I had the Mofongo and it was the best I ever had. The first time I tried it was in Puerto Rico and that was tremendous but this out did it. Their Hibiscus tea was very refreshing. Will be the first on my list to return to.

I think the bloom has worn off this rose... This used to be one of my favorite places to eat in St. Pete. Now I think it's just so-so. It's always crowded (this was a Friday night), dark inside, and LOUD. The patio wasn't open when we got there, but we got a table quickly. They charge for chips and... More

It's food is so-so and a bit pricey. There are better places to eat, but this place is within walking distance of work. It's purported to be a Tex-Mex institution, but it's more of an American take on Mexican cooking. There are better places, but they are a bit of a drive. This is convenient for us downtowners in St.... More

Great food, quiet location, good price and nice staff... What more could you want. The bar and outside garden areas are good fun for a night out.

We were in the mood for Mexican-style food and this place was only about 10 blocks were we were staying, so we decided to give it a shot. We went fairly early (about 5:15), so it wasn't crowded at all, but I imagine it fills up pretty quickly during the peak hours even though there's a lot of seating. We... More

Overall, Red Mesa Cantina was a good place to eat. The atmosphere was lively and spirited and the live music was just getting started as we were leaving. The guacamole could have used a little more salt but is was easy enough to add some to my liking. The Chicken Fernandez with chipotle cream sauce was delicious as were the... More
