Taste of Nawlins'

Nice little spot on central ave for a taste of Nawlins'... Went for Sunday brunch and the live music was a great touch...started off with the goudin balls: crunchy on the outside, warm and a little gooey on the inside (but with nice texture and not too spicy). The corn and crab bisque was creamy... read more

I am a regular to this establishment when in need of some Cajun comfort food. Great local ownership and real Louisiana home cooking! The building is a two story with a New Orleans feel - even painted purple and gold inside! Located close to Tropicana Field, Ricky P's offers free parking for their dinner guests - great spot to party... More

A group of us dined at Ricky P's Thursday night. It was very unpleasant. My shrimp cocktail appetizer was disappointing; the shrimp were limp and mushy, and not even the half-decent cocktail sauce could disguise the fact that they were over-boiled. My salad with fried chicken and the house balsamic vinaigrette was okay, but really, it should have been served... More

My wife and I decided to go to St Petersburg to watch the fireworks at Straub Park since the kids were Jammin in Jamaica. We found a Bed and Breakfast on Beach Drive for the night and off to "the Burg" we went. We made lunch plans with my sister and thought Bodega would be a good place BUT they... More

What a great time we had at Ricky P's restaurant for the Jazz Brunch on Sunday before the Ray's game. I went to High School with Ricky at Rummel High School in New Orleans and it was great to see him and enjoy some New Orleans cuisine while in Florida. I had the sloppy roast beef poboy and others with... More

First of all, I really wanted to say DO NOT GO HERE, just so I could have the place to myself... HAHA. Then, I realized that wasn't a great thing. I absolutely, positively love this place!!!! Poboys, Crawfish, Shrimp. Gumbo. All great and tasted like New Orleans specialties. Alot closer than taking a trip to Nawlins for food. Gotta try Ricky P's to check it out.

Ricky P's in St. Petersburg is a fun and perfect way to enjoy fabulous creole food before catching a Rays game at nearby Tropicana Field. All of the food we have tried has been delicious ! The crab cakes are to die for and the dill sauce with them is so good. The Po' Boys are huge and yummy. The... More

I tend to be too hard on New Orleans restaurants because I lived there for 7 years. So i try the traditional items to rate the restaurants and this one fell flat. They have beignets on Sunday --- the dough was too thick and gooey on the inside - still it's fried dough (they do that at the fair too)... More
