Description: For everyone who loves redemptive powers of the sea and the sensual tastes of the very freshest foods and great drinks, the cure is indeed here: St. Pete Beach’s most festive dining experience, The Salty Rim Grill. The Salty Rim is something from the imagination of an old Florida dreamer or Buffet song. the fresh food is influenced by the great tastes of the Caribbean, Florida Keys and places that rim the Gulf of Mexico. But it’s even more than that, The Salty Rim is a state of mind; the nearest faraway place that the fun loving people of Tampa Bay can escape to… and please when you enter, be sure to check your worries at the door.

Beautiful views, ok food. Bong bong shrimp was delish, but the captains platter and black and blue burger were not that great. Would not return.

We went here after seeing it advertised in a local rag. It was practically empty and every dish was loaded with sugar and the draft beer was flat. Disappointing to say the least

The last time I was there the food was good as there is a new chef. They just built a big new bar on the back porch where you can see the bridge and coastal waterway.

Showed up on a Sunday about 6:30, place was pretty empty . Our waitress had zero personality, and took forever to bring the napkins and kids milk I asked for. As a matter of fact, I had to ask another waitress for it before it actually came. Food came out Quesadilla had a chicken bone in it ! And it... More

We arrived here after stopping at a beach bar type place; needless to say, we were starving! We were seated out on the deck immediately. There were already quite a few patrons both inside and outside and an acoustic guitarist was performing. The sun was shining, the view of the water was beautiful and a storm was rolling in. Overall... More

I originally reviewed the Salty Rim in April 2012 and we loved it! We especially loved dessert. We went back this past April and had a terrible experience. The restaurant seemed very dirty (my shirt stuck to the table) and the staff seemed uninterested in working. I ordered a cheese burger that tasted like a dirty fryer - it was... More

The crew from Our Shore Life spent an afternoon at Ft. DeSoto park last Sunday. After a long hot day at the beach, we spotted The Salty Rim Grill on our way home. Tucked in the corner of a small complex, we found a beautiful outdoor seating area surrounded by the waterfront. We sampled a Rum Punch and a Margarita,... More

Food was great. Awesome staff. Kitchen manager came out to check on food. Prior to ordering he even came out to introduce himself.

It was our first time to the Salty Rim and enjoyed our meal very much I had the macadamia coated grouper with pineapple plantain and my husband had the chimmi churri grilled hangar steak. Everything was delicious and service was very good. We already knew Tom the chef and knew it would be an exceptionable meal. There is also outside... More
