Description: For everyone who loves redemptive powers of the sea and the sensual tastes of the very freshest foods and great drinks, the cure is indeed here: St. Pete Beach’s most festive dining experience, The Salty Rim Grill. The Salty Rim is something from the imagination of an old Florida dreamer or Buffet song. the fresh food is influenced by the great tastes of the Caribbean, Florida Keys and places that rim the Gulf of Mexico. But it’s even more than that, The Salty Rim is a state of mind; the nearest faraway place that the fun loving people of Tampa Bay can escape to… and please when you enter, be sure to check your worries at the door.

When I am sitting in Minnesota in knee-deep snow... this is what I dream a Florida place should be. Came here for happy hour and dinner with my wife on a sunny day in March. The Salty Rim sits right on the Intercoastal Waterway, so their deck is a pretty & relaxing place to spend an hour or two -... More

We had lunch here on our first day. The view of the water was great; it was stormy so we had to be inside. There were numerous TVs on, but happily not with sound! The sandwiches were OK, and the margaritas large and sweet. Suspect it is a good bar scene/happy hour spot.

Good view average food? I'm not sure how to feel about that knowing I just brought in a new chef with great culinary talents. I'm quite confident if you were to come back in and order anything from our menu especially "off the beaten path" selections you would truly enjoy. Hope to see you soon. More

Ordered full rack of ribs and mofongo disk but after ten minutes was told that the oven was broke and therefore no ribs. Kitchen says broken oven...Okay! Ordered skirt steak disk instead. After a long wait food came out cold and we sent it back. Portions were on the skimpy side. Waitress returned with "reheated" same plates...great. Finally, we presented... More

Had a drink on the deck mid-afternoon. View was great. Went back for dinner wanting to eat on the deck but the band/singer was SO loud we had to eat inside. Food was okay. Friendly servers and bartenders but we waited a bit too long for our food. Not a bad place but not our favorite.

My original thought was to give this 4 stars, but on reflection and the subsequent stomach ache, it really doesn't deserve it. Came here for happy hour and dinner with my girlfriend. It is a pretty place for happy hour - located on a river or inlet or something like that. The outdoor patio is a nice relaxing place to... More

Ordered chips and quest as our appetizer. This was fairly decent but would have been much better if the chips were warm. Grouper sandwich was below average. Seemed that it could have been a frozen piece of fish instead of fresh. A bit on the rubbery side. Our waitress was not attentive at all...someone else even brought our check. I... More

We enjoyed good fish and chips and marguaritas. Walking distance to the terrible island Inn. They treated us well and service was good but it was a slow night because of the rain.

We visit this area every year and have eaten at many of the establishments. This is the best yet. We will certainly be returning. Everything we ordered was delicious and in good portions (oysters tasted fresh, blackened taco were spicy!, kids chicken was hand breaded, etc). Service was fast. Prices were very fair--better than most places. Also, the setting is... More
