We really wanted to like this place but it just didn’t work out us. Went for dinner on a Sunday night and found it near empty. Nice island décor and friendly, if timid, server. Had oysters on the half, Brunswick Stew and the key lime pie. The oysters were fresh and plump and the Brunswick Stew was very good. We... More

Really good take away of the very limited options on the Island. The brisket was ever so good, good service, too.

Breakfast can be hard to find on the island unless you cook it yourself. This is good for that reason. Food is just okay but the price is less than the typical SGI fare. I will probably take the trip over the bridge to El Jalisco the rest of the week.

My husband and I just returned from a St. George Island vacation, and as always, we ate breakfast every day at the Beach Pit! Breakfast has plenty of options, and all are filling and affordable, with friendly service. No complaints here, though I haven't had dinner here and thus can't comment on it.

We stopped by for breakfast. I think it was one of the few places on the island serving breakfast, so understandably the place was busy. Gravy biscuits adequate, eggs cooked perfectly. Servers seemed overworked. I thought prices were ok, but several tables around us grumbled. They had children and tables full of food however. My only issue was the price... More

We had dinner and breakfast here and both meals were good. Friendly staff and varied choices. I loved my BBQ sandwich. Prices are very reasonable.

While vacationing on SGI, we just love to eat at this local restaurant. We've been there for breakfast & dinner so far this week & loved both meals. John, the owner, is the nicest person & welcomes us back each year. The service is friendly & the food is fresh & great tasting! You will be glad you stopped by... More

Alright BBQ. Pork was very overcooked. Advertised as Texas style, more along the lines of Carolina style. Sauce was amazing. Like any other BBQ restaurant in any southern state ... Except you're going to pay twice as much here.

My family and I just returned from a week long stay on SGI and The Beach Pit was our first dining experience there. I ordered the shrimp scampi. What I got was 6 quarter-sized pieces of shrimp over a huge bowl of noodles. Very dry. Zero flavor. My husband ordered the fried grouper dinner, and he was pleased enough with... More
