For Fried Food Lovers Only

It's a bit out of the way from the touristy spots most visitors to Orlando come to see. There's not much to say about the atmosphere either but when it comes to fried food, this place knows what it's doing. Please try the fried okra. It's absolutely the best I've ever eaten and reason enough to... read more

Love this place. I have been eating here for about 30 years. Friendly, family restaurant. The catfish is good. coleslaw is amazing and fried lobster is so good..... And for those non seafood people their pork chops are really good. If I am in the area I am there.

Stopped by this place after golf and on way to airport for a quick sandwich. It's a nice, average, clean restaurant with pleasant staff. We both tried the catfish on a bun. Haven't had catfish in a very long time. Normally think of a fish sandwich as a filet, but the catfish here comes on tiny strips, with a light... More

After our Spirit of the Swamp tour, we were recommended to try the Catfish Place. The meat sampler was tasty. It had among other meats gator, turtle, and frog legs. We enjoyed it quite a bit.

This has the best atmosphere for just showing up and having a great meal. Casual country and great food. The Chicken Cranberry salad is a huge meal and great for the summer! Served cold with hot grilled chicken and wonderful items you expect in a salad. Great prices. Mon - Wed they offer a two for deal and its a... More

Sorry to give this place a bad review as my family and I have eaten here many times over the years but the place got shut down by the health department a few months back for a cockroach infestation in the kitchen. I know, all food places have to fight against bugs but a roach infestation - in the kitchen?!?... More

Advised to go here after our air boat trip. Felt like we were eating at a real restaurant for local people which after two weeks of Disney parks and the whole tourist thing was very very welcome. Service was fantastic, it felt like we were eating in a private home not in a restaurant. Tried the Cracker Special to get... More

We recently had lunch at the catfish place for the first time. I had the bone in catfish and my wife had catfish filets and shrimp. The servings were generous and delicious. The bone in catfish consisted of several small (4-6 oz. each) that were cooked to perfection. My wife had several small filets and about a dozen medium sized... More

This place was recommended by our fishing guide, Jay Turner (who by the way put us on some nice bass on Lake Toho!) We went twice for lunch and had shrimp, catfish, clams, cheese grits, black eyed peas and squash. Wow! If you want to go where the locals go for some of the best seafood in the area, go... More
