Good food, ok service

Never haven eaten gator or catfish we went to this place by chance. As the signs says. It's for locals... However, The food is really good and I guess if you are a regular they will be friendly. We are not and the service was ok. Most of the items on the menu are fried. It could be a great... read more

Our airboat capt hooked us up with this place. I've eaten gator before when I was in Texas and this was by far much better. We tried the catfish too. Both were top notch! This is a great place to eat! But, they could have been a little more friendly.

Great local fare, friendly staff made for a very enjoyable dining experience. After our swamp tour, we had to try the "Florida Cracker Special" recommended by our server which included gator tail, frogs legs, catfish and turtle. All deep fried as is most of their menu and not unlike most of the restaurants we tried. Finished with some Key Lime... More

I'm from California, my husband from Florida. So needless to say, this food was new to me, but it was great. I was able to try gator, turtle, frog legs, and hush puppies; all wonderfully prepared. I had the sampler plate (which could have been shared by three people easily) and it included fried scallops, clams, oysters, catfish, shrimp, gator,... More

This is an old fashioned fish place that is popular with locals and tourists that know about it. There is a big lunch crowd from the local area, so expect that around noon. It does get crowded and waiting is common.. There is a wide variety of local fish, turtle, gator, and popular Florida country food. There's even burgers for... More

Driving by and saw the packed parking lot so decided to stop in for lunch. Had the fried shrimp, cole slaw, and hush puppies. Everything was great. This is definitely a locals restaurant, nothing fancy...just great food.

Had heard about this place a few years ago eventually got to pay a visit. Its not hard to find but its off the tourist trail. It seemed very popular with the locals. We tried catfish, aligator & turtle all fried in batter of course. My husband loved it but i was not so keen the catfish was lovely but... More

The Catfish Place is our go-to restaurant when we're traveling this way; we live on the east coast and travel this road often. I have NEVER had a bad meal here. For two of us we usually spend about $45- that's for the "choose two" platters. The drinks are overpriced, next time I'll have water. The fried green tomatoes, scallops... More

We have made it a point to eat at the Catfish Place every time we have travelled to Disney World since about 1980. It is a long way from the "main attraction area" but that is one of the things that make it special. Most of the food is fried but I had the broiled scallops and they were good.... More
