I took my mother and aunt here 15 years ago when we were on a Florida tour. i wanted to bring my sister here now that I've moved to North Florida. It was just as I remembered. Even though it's a beach place, the food is not the usual. We had clam fritters for an appetizer, then mahi sandwiches with... More

We loved the freshness of the food and the service was the best ever! We will definitely return. Best fish tacos I've ever eaten.

Thank you for taking the time to review The Comber. We are glad that you and your guests have enjoyed your meals in the past. The Comber has been under new ownership for almost two years. We no longer serve breakfast however we have completely overhauled the lunch & dinner menu to fresh, house made dishes. We also offer innovative... More

Love to try local restaurants when traveling. This did not disappoint. Great local on the beach hang out. Mostly outdoor seating. Small indoor seating around the bar. Some view of the oceans but dunes pretty much block most of the view, but it is right next to the entrance to the beach. I had mahi mahi tacos and homemade guacamole.... More

We really enjoyed our lunch at the Beachcomber. The waitress we had was super friendly and attentive. There's a "sandbox" with kids toys right beside the dining area, so it's easy for parents to eat and watch the kids at the same time. Menu is typical stuff for a beachside cafe, but all well done and a surprisingly good variety... More

We are staying here in St. Augustine for the winter. We love the Beachcomber. Great menu but we can't resist the burgers.. Especially the Brie burger! Don't leave St. Augustine until you try one.

We are new home owners in the area so we have enjoyed trying new restaurants to us. After sight seeing in St Augustine we decided to try Beachcomber's for lunch. Perfect! Sitting on the patio at a picnic table the sun beating down on our backs and sand dunes blocking the wind couldn't have been more like a local feel.... More

New owners must mean new cook. I've been eating their clam chowder for over 20 years and now the taste is bland and the chowder is watery. The tuna wrap was also watery and gave me indigestion. I'll give them 1 more try but buyer beware the new cook isn't the old cook

Thank you for taking the time to write a review of your experience. I am sorry that the tuna wrap did not meet your expectations. You are correct that there is an owner/chef in the kitchen, who has 30+ years of executive chef experience and has created several new menus at the Comber over the past 2 years which include... We moved to St Augustine Beach in July and the Beachcomber quickly became our local go to place. Locally owned and operated, you can't beat the service and atmosphere. The food is also very good. Lots of locals frequent the place so it has an easy, laid back vibe. The new renovations are great. Hope this means the owners are... More

Our visit was most pleasant. Food was moderately priced and plentiful. The cooking was tip quality. It was very crowded and we just squeaked in. Still service was fast and we were seated quickly. My only negative thought was the chairs were too hard.
