Great Food, Great Service

We went to Playa Chac-Mool three nights of our five night vacation. My husband is from Mexico so we really wanted to try it. We were starving when we got into town. I had written down some restaurant recommendations and this was one of them. The desk clerk at the hotel recommended this too. We went in the early afternoon and not busy at all. Very good service. Food came out fast, hot and tasted good. We had carne asada tacos and taco salad.... More

We read about this place on TripAdvisor while we were on our quiet little stay-cation in St. Augustine Beach. It seemed to be closed on Monday, so we stopped by on Tuesday evening after 5pm. We were greeted by Mr. Chacmool, who owns the tiny establishment on the beach. He immediately brought us chips and salsa and asked us to... More

A pleasant little restaurant without truly excellent and authentic Mexican food. Family run, friendly, reasonably priced.... Good sized portions too. Not an upscale ding experience by any means, but clean and nicely decorated. Our go-to. Spot for an easy Mexican lunch or diner.

Terrific Mexican restaurant overall. Cozy Mexican feel inside. The food was good. Not great, just good. Inexpensive silverware and tissue paper thin napkins make for a lesser dining experience.

Fresh and authentic Mexican food. Outside patio seating is nice if it's not too hot. Kids love the chicken fingers is they are not acclimated to Mexican food yet. Family run and operated with large portions and delicious food.

We visit here every year.... the food is always very tasty & delicious. Every experience at this restaurant has always been so exciting. The cost is very reasonable & worth every dollar. I made a comment to the owner about a photo of him playing a guitar & at this time he said "hang on"......The owner came back with his... More

Decided to go here our last night of our trip and so glad we did! The owner met us by the door and greeted us and shook our hands, very friendly place! The food was amazing and good prices. Guacamole was great! It is a small place, very clean and is a great gem! Highly recommend! Can't beat great food,... More

At first glance, this place is very underwhelming. Not dirty or rundown, but nothing fancy. It's very comfy and quaint inside and the food is INCREDIBLE. I loved this place, the salsa is incredible which is always a good sign. I already loved my experience here but as we received our check, the man that I assume owns it, shook... More

From the couple who run the restaurant to the fried ice-cream, everything here is unbelievable. As a group of five we each chose something different and nobody was disappointed. Some of the best fish tacos ever. Don't let the small size fool you - stop by for great food and great service.
