Best Salsa EVER!

Let me just start by saying I've had Mexican/Tex-Mex in a lot of places, from Chicago to Laredo to Cozumel and many points in between. The salsa at this little spot is the best tomato salsa I've ever eaten. It had just the right touch of sugar with the perfect blend of spices, not too heavy on the... read more

We were a bit concerned when we pulled up since it was a little early and not too crowded but we were very happy with our choice of restaurants. All of the main courses were wonderful and the margaritas were great too. If I didn't need to drive back to the hotel I would have drank several more. The only... More

Stopped in for dinner. Nicely decorated small restaurant, not too busy on a Friday night. Nachos were average, salsa was a little bland but a hot salsa was brought out when requested which added a little more zip. Entrees we're good, but very much like any other Mexican diner. We were going to try the ceviche but as it was... More

Whoever did the design work outside and inside this restaurant should be given some type of an award. It is the best decorated Mexican restaurant I have ever been in and I have been in a lot. The attention to detail is staggering. Just a work of love. AND the food was quite good too. I had the chicken chimichanga... More

This place has been a local secret by the locals for years. NOT Mex tex. Dishes prepared to high standards and a great variety to choice from. The ceviche is a must try for any diner. Very predictable quality and so far every item I've eaten is the best. IMPRESSIVE!! Has private room for small parties, B-days. Festive place!!

La Cocina is a cute little place right on Highway one. It has several different rooms of various size, all decorated nicely with painted walls. The food was fine, nothing special, but the service was very good, the beer was cold, and the prices are very reasonable.

When we ate there a couple of times last year, we thought the food was excellent and really liked the simple décor evoking Mexican village restaurants and the excellent service. We went back today and had exactly the same meals that I raved about in a review a year ago. The restaurant is still an attractive and relaxing place to... More

Very good food and service. Tasty, mild, well presented and add in the funky surrondings plus reasonable prices for the area and you have a "bueno" choice for lunch or dinner!!

I'm picky, and I should say that right up front. I would give La Cocina 3.5 stars if I could. I thought the habanero salsa was good but you have to ask for it. The mild salsa was ...sad. Stand outs were the hot salsa made in house and the pork tamale with sales verde. The interior was colorful and... More

At La Covina turned into a good thing. Drinks were brought quickly, salsa and chips came next, nice cloth napkins, and interesting decor. I ordered Black Bean soup and I was surprised by the broth, but it turned out the soup was super. Our dinners were well presented and proved to be very tasty and filling. We will be back.
