Awesome Montado sandwich for a quick afternoon snack

If you have a mid afternoon hankering for a yummy snack while walking around the old town then stop on in for a Montado sandwhich. The homemade bread is top notch

This is a very small storefront which displays pre-made lunch items. The empanadas were okay, the soup was fair. Great if you need to pick something up on the run, otherwise not a great selection.

I was there late in the afternoon and it was slim pickins. There were two young girls working there and they could have cared less. The prices were HIGH. It might be good, but there are many other places, just as good or better.

My dentist recommended this bakery. It's very small but has delicious baked goods. You must try the bread. They also have great baked pastries. You can have lunch of soups, salads, empanadas, grilled sausage. They also include a 10 percent off coupon for the chocolate store adjacent to the bakery. Delicious.

We stand back to see where the locals go to grab a good meal and inevitably it was at the same place: The Spanish Bakery. They offer soups, empanadas, cookies and soft drinks. Eat under the trees on picnic tables and enjoy the smell of baking bread and Spanish treats. Since discovering this gem, we have returned countless times, sometimes... More

The food was a breath of fresh air. Butternut squash soup was awesome. Also had the salad. And the empanada, which was very well seasoned and went well with the sweet chili sauce they offered. will be back for their bakery eats. They looked so good!!

We went to the bakery early in the morning (10:00) because in the past we have learned that you are too late for their delicious bread unless you arrive early. However, they had a large order submitted the previous day and said there would be no bread for sale until 2:30 PM! Bad planning!

The Spanish Bakery and Cafe has become our favorite restaurant in historic St. Augustine. They used to just be open for lunch but are now serving dinner as well. Tonight we had delicious salads, soup, and a shrimp boil dinner all of which had a Spanish flair. The flavors were outstanding and portions were generous. We enjoy the casual atmosphere... More

The Spanish Bakery is a St. Augustine tradition and is very popular, so it can get very crowed around lunch time, and they sometimes run out of the more popular items by 1:30 or so. The picadillo soup (beef and veg) is filling, especially if you add an empanada, which were good but kind of pasty and not much filling.... More
