They look good.....But no....

My wife and I wanted to snack on something, so we stopped for an empanada. It looked amazing, but it left much to be desired. Very bland tasting. I always give a spot two chances so we will stop by again. Maybe to try something else.

This place is a staple whenever my family visits the area. They've made a number of delicious additions to the menu over the years, and have retained the staples. If you're passing by, NEVER leave without a fresh loaf of bread.

As a local this place is a must see for anyone coming into town! We always take our family and friends here to get a loaf of warm bread or an empanada as we walk around the downtown area! The staff is always so friendly and the food never dissapoints! Now they take credit cards which is a great plus... More

We happened upon this place. It's small and sits back a little from the street. We had a good lunch, soup and a drink. The seating is outdoors. The baked goods looked delicious, but we resisted the temptation.

We were recommended this spot by a local. It has freshly baked items (rolls, bread, empanadas - chicken and beef, as well as other bakes items, soups and on the day we visited, picadillo). It is easy to miss the entrance for the bakery of St George street as it is back behind a stone wall. It is between Whetstome... More

We had a picadillo soup, and another one which name I don't remember, but was a clumpy sticky rice affair, more like a casserole. $4 each wasn't bad, and the Datyl catsup and mustards are great. Fantastic looking pastrys and now I wish we had gotten some to take with us.

We stopped here for a quick bite and had a sweet potato turnover and a pecan castillo pastry. The turnover was gingery and not overly sweet, the pastry was generously stuffed with brown sugar and pecans. Sitting in the sunny courtyard was a delightful way to take a break in a day of sight-seeing. Very much recommended!

We stumbled upon this little, out-of-the way eatery after leaving the Whetstone chocolate place on St. George's. The smells coming out of the bakery were heavenly, so we stopped for some empanadas and turnovers. Both the beef and chicken empanadas were wonderful! (The chicken had a bit more "kick.") We tried all three flavors of turnovers and they were good--especially... More

Enjoyed the different foods. We had the beef empanada, sausage dog, cherry and apple turnover. All were delicious. The buns, not so much. But everything else was spot on. Prices are said to be high but what would you expect in the middle of downtown St. Augustine. Would go again.

When we visited this place, first, I was expecting more Spanish dishes, and second more Spanish flavor. I had the empanadas which were overly dry, and had too much oregano (and I like oregano). Also, they were overpriced ($4 for an small empanada). My daughter had the pig in a blanket which I don't consider it to be Spanish at... More
