My hubby and I both had the empanads. He had beef and I had the chicken. The chicken was soooo good. We both agreed it was better than the beef. The mini bread loaf was very good as well. If you get the combo, it will come with the empanada, mini bread a cookie and a drink for $6.50. Its... More

We never miss a chance to eat lunch here when in St. Augustine. The lunch special of soup, bread, a cookie and drink can't be beat for the value or the taste. The Picadillo Soup is fantastic!

I am a bread person and any time I go to St. Augustine I make it a priority to stop here and get a Round Loaf of their homemade bread. Most times it is still warm to the touch and tastes good with or without butter. The Bakery also serves some Spanish comfort food - picadillo (which is seasoned ground... More

My wife and I tried this just to experience history and hopefully great food. We ordered the beef empanada. We are both Hispanic to the core and what we tasted was tasteless. Don't get me wrong. The location was definitely historic and the the atmosphere of the shop was amazing. But the food was just horrible. If that is what... More

This is a place I've thought about returning to for 10 years. I finally did and it was just as good as before. The empanadas and bread are straight from heaven. This place alone is worth the stop in town.

The food wasn't as good as I remembered. We had chicken and beef empenadas. The filling was alright but the dough was dry and not that tasty. The cinnamon rolls looked delicious but were also dry and not very flavorful. Also got a sweet potato turnover which was pretty good. Kids had sausage rolls and were happy. It was quick... More

We lived in St. Augustine Beach 12 years ago, and the Spanish Bakery was one of our go-to places for lunch. The beef empanadas, chicken and rice soup, picadillo, and that wonderfully gigantic loaf of fresh-baked bread... YUM! We moved away from the area and returned last year - couldn't wait to go back! Unfortunately, we were hugely disappointed! I... More

$31.00 for an empanada (dry dough, beef filing not the same), sausage, two salads (ham, cheese, olives, roasted peppers, balsamic that was not distinguishable from a bottle, two waters. This is no longer the value it once was. Also on the menu was a rice perlow, gazpacho, loaves of bread, almond, lemon, and cinnamon cookies (harder than before), sweet potato... More

This was our first visit to the Spanish Bakery since its makeover and changes in 2013. We have been long time patrons and have pictures of our children in front of the bakery as they have grown through the years. A few things have changed, like the prices. There seem to be newer tables outside and a few new items... More

Simple place. Good empanadas, pastries...okay. Husband is a baker so we are a little picky about baked goods. Good prices on drinks and right next to the public restrooms which were very clean. Would stop back for the empanadas!
