This was our first visit to the Spanish Bakery since its makeover and changes in 2013. We have been long time patrons and have pictures of our children in front of the bakery as they have grown through the years. A few things have changed, like the prices. There seem to be newer tables outside and a few new items... More

Simple place. Good empanadas, pastries...okay. Husband is a baker so we are a little picky about baked goods. Good prices on drinks and right next to the public restrooms which were very clean. Would stop back for the empanadas!

This bakery is a bit hidden behind the Whetstone's Chocolate shop and Vino De Gratto. Menu items are reasonably priced but bring cash, since they don't accept credit cards! The Piccadillo is traditional Spanish with beef, onions and peppers in a tomato sauce and white rice is available. Empanadas are my favorite and sausage rolls or cinnamon rolls make for... More

This little restaurant is tucked back in a courtyard in St. Augustine's historic district. Because the courtyard is walled, it doesn't scream its presence from the street. But I'm willing to do a bit of screaming on its behalf. Good empanadas stuffed with either beef or chicken, extremely good Spanish pilau (seriously, I could make a meal of this), hot-ish... More

Good food. Excellent Prices. Simple. Delicous. Open around 10-8, but I think hours change with season so you may want to call. Authentic. Fresh...Would go there everyday if I could

I have heard quite abit of this bakery and went to it for the first time today. Disappointed to say the least. Two young girls texting who could have cared less and I guess that it was a good thing because everything looked old and not much to pick from, so I left and will not return for quite awhile.... The bread is awesome when right from the oven. Soup is also good, along with datil sauce. It is difficult to find if you've never been there, but definitely worth it. Not much ambiance but that's not what this place is about. It's all about THE BREAD!

We will definitely be going back next time we visit. The bread is yummy, and the cookies are awesome. We tried several different items (soup, empanadas, etc.), and everything was good.

Loved the empanandas (not sure if that's how you spell it) and the meal deal. Nice peaceful setting just off the main road.
