My family and I just returned from a trip which included a stop in St. Augustine. We came across The Oasis (corner of A1A and Ocean Trace Blvd.) and it was fantastic! We had a late lunch (about 2.30) and had philly cheesesteaks, burgers and a blackened chicken sandwich (which was the size of about one side of the chicken!)... more

I was really surprised because I'd heard their breakfast was so great. My country omelet WAS good, but someone earlier said they didn't salt the grits - true - and if you don't do that when they're cooking, it's useless. I went back for a second try in one week. I found the breakfast they serve lacking quality. The grits had no salt cooked in them and that makes them taste awful. The bacon was not fully cooked. We have been to the oasis at least 100 times and it has been perfect everytime. Laid back atmosphere, great service and food. Still number one after all these years. more

The Oasis is one of those common Florida beach town, bar/restaurants that has packaged a blend of bad food, decent ambiance and live music to become one of St. Augustine's favorite hangouts. My wife and I just returned from a long Memorial Day weekend @ St. Augustine. The Oasis was less than a mile from our condo so it quickly became our place to hang.
