Out enjoying the area and saw this little restaurant and thought why not try. So glad we did! Food was excellent. Had Cuban Sandwich, big portion and flavored just right. The waiter, Dillon, was very good and accommodating. Right after we sat down other people started pouring in. Kinda small but homey feel. Also have outside tables to sit at... More

Come here every year. The food is great. The Medianoche is the best in the city. The Ellen Ruth was a new experience, and a new favorite. Bread was fresh and flavorful. The plantains were sweet and perfectly done. Black beans and rice were as good as I remembered. Great service, great atmosphere.

My husband and I happened upon this place, passing by, the smell drew us in. We came in and were unsure if we were to seat ourselves (a sign or someone letting us know would be nice) so we sat at an empty table for four, the only table for two had two empty glasses sitting on it almost the... Very good cuban sandwich and excellent Midnight sandwich. Had limited amount of time in Saint Augustine and was craving a Cuban so ordered to go and it really hit the spot. Would definitely go back and try some of their other Cuban cuisine.

One of the best things about St Augustine is the food. La Herencia serves Cuban cuisine, and their menu included the traditional staples like Picadillo and Roast Pork dishes. Really good and fresh home cooking. Will definitely return here!

Had a great lunch stop at La Herencia. This was our first visit, and was not our intended place to eat. We were looking for Greek, but Gyros place we used to love is no longer, and so we went to another Greek restaurant on Aviles street, but they were packed. Across the street we saw La Herencia, and decided... More

We started with the empanadas. I expected something reheated in the micro, but this was really good. Nice dough, flavorful feeling. The rest of our food was good too. The location on Aviles St. just off the plaza is cooler and more relaxed than the St George street scene . There was some sidewalk dining available .

We arrived into St Augustine after a red eye from the West Coast; we were hungry and wanted a tasty no fuss lunch. We walked about 7 minutes and found a small walking street and this fun Cuban restaurant. We were warmly welcomed and sat down straight away. We both ordered the pressed pork sandwiches and Pacificos. Very tasty food.

We had dinner on a very busy Saturday night. All the restaurants in the area had at least an hour wait. We were seated pretty quickly. The food was very good as was the service.

This was a surprise. Final minute decision and we couldn't be happier. Real tasting cuban food from empanadas frijoles negros besitos de coco, real good coffee and great prices. $122 for a party of 7 not bad! Did i say the espresso coffee was good!!! Omg!
