And the oysters weren't bad. They just weren't delicious. There was so much breading that I could barely taste the oysters. Perhaps I should have gone with the much touted fried shrimp. However, the side dishes (summer squash and pickled beets) and the hush puppies were delightful. The staff was as sweet as their sweet tea. Great service. I might... More

We arrived at Osteen's at 6 pm on a Saturday and anticipated having to wait. The wait was an hour and a half so we decided to go rent a Redbox and shop before returning. Upon returning, I had to wait another 15 minutes just to be able to step up to the window. They sat us at 8 pm... More

This is the best shrimp you've ever eaten. I promise. The restaurant has been here 38 years. Our family has been coming here almost as long. We've been known to eat here every day for a week. You might have to wait, it's worth it. Get the fried shrimp, it comes in 6, 12, and 18 piece sizes. The red... More

Waited over an hour in downpour on a Wednesday night at 5 o'clock. Thought we got there early enough to beat the rush - WRONG! Was it worth the wait. OH YEAH! Best fried seafood ever. Awesome crabcakes. Great homemade datil pepper hot sauce. Forget standard salad and baked potato and enjoy the great vegetables. This is a must do... More

Family has been in the shrimp business- and husband is a chef- so you can believe me when I say this restaurant serves the best tasting fried shrimp in the US! A must stop for any St Augustine visit- even the side dishes are freshly prepared to perfection! The batter is light and airy and the unique shrimp shape for... More

We always make a point to eat nightly meals here. If you eat in, be sure to be patient-the wait is usually 45 minutes but it's worth it! We usually order out & pick up, it's just as good. Red shrimp sauce is AMAZING! Voted top restaurants continually & after dining, I see why!

Excellent fried shrimp! Friendly staff... but the wait is LONG. We waited for over an hour to be seated. Convenient little antique shop next door to pass the time and your name can be called and heard while shopping in the store. Specialize is seafood... other items like steak... they need to practice on :)

My family and friends always eat the fried shrimp and fried oysters which evidently are fabulous. But (don't get grossed out) I always have the chicken livers. They are absolutely the best I have had. They are fried in the light batter that is also used on the shrimp, and absolutely melt in my mouth. The sides at Osteen's are... More

we come to osteens every time we are in st augustine. the shrimp is delicious but the fried chicken is an under the radar treat. it takes a little while to prepare but the chicken is juicy and flavorful. the portion sizes are second to none and the service is professional. this place knows what it's doing. we didn't have... It's nice to know that there are still places in Florida, that haven't changed in ages. Familiar faces and food that withstands the test of time. Osteen's is a must stop-in when in St. Augustine. We had their famous Fried Shrimp and Fried Oysters ($8.50). The Minorcan Clam Chowder was as good as we remembered it. We will be back... More
