Attracted to this restaurant having listened to the owners description of the food to prospective customers. However, contrary to other reviews we had a dreadful experience. We waited an hour and a quarter for food that can only be described as mediocre at best. The poor waiter was extremely embarrassed at having to constantly apologise for the delay, we were... More

My husband and I had an amazing dinner at the Gourmet Hut last week while on vacation for our destination wedding. I had scallops and tortellini, which were both cooked perfectly - not an easy thing to do with scallops. We took the outdoor table with the chandelier which was so romantic. I love that their menu changes daily and... More

We walked by and glanced at the chalk written menu boards, my wife noting the fish tacos. We went back after walking around for a couple of hours and were immediately seated in the garden. I ordered an appetizer, scallops in a lemon cream sauce over wilted spinach. As it was brought out the dinner menu board was brought over.... More

We walked by looking for someplace to eat and were drawn in by the beautiful atmosphere. The owner greeted us at the hostess stand and when I told her I am a vegetarian she said the chef could whip something up for me with the ingredients they had that day. My husband had a quail dish and said it was... More

Being able to sit in the corner gourmet's precious garden and eat a delicious spinach frittata made for an excellent morning. The wait staff was super perosonable, as well. I can't wait to return during my next visit.

Walking passed the restaurant in a garden and thought, "How romantic!" Then we glanced at the menu and said, "Oh, we must!" Great service! Met one of the three chefs. The menu changes to fit the food that was delivered. The lamb chops with Merlot wine reduction in purée parsnips was awesome. The oysters... went down too fast! Wishing we... More

We were walking by this small establishment and would have passed it by, however the weather wasn't nice and we wanted to get out if the rain. The restaurant seating in doors was very small but cozy. We ordered breakfast which was delicious. Eggs Benedict and breakfast burrito were our choices for the day. We opted for fresh fruit instead... More

We almost walked by this hidden treasure but didn't thanks to the fabulous staff at Bayfront Marin house where we were staying. Mostly outdoor seating lit with tiki torches created the naturally romantic atmosphere. The menu changes daily so we knew there would be nothing standard about this restaurant. Lamb chops were out of this world as was everything we... More

Joking... but seriously. Best spot in St. Augustine for real gourmet, homemade food, and they always have some type of infused water - usually cucumber the times that I've been here. It's actually in a hut, with outdoor seating. Just one or two chefs. That's it. They take your order, cook your food, and deliver it to you. Awesome.

Fantastic food, not for your average tourist/visitor. The idea of 3 chefs taking turns in the kitchen with whatever the owner got at market/season creates an adventurous menu every time. It was like having dinner in your own back yard, very unique space. Cons: no restroom and they can improve the quality of paper napkins.
