My husband and I were in town for a half marathon and while we loved the history and culture of the city (along with the beautiful architecture) we're not really into the hokey touristy stuff, including restaurants that cater to that crowd. We found the Floridian our first night in town and are there both nights we were there, and... More

My friends and I enjoyed lunch today at The Floridian. I had never before visited this establishment though my daughter had recommended it several times. The atmosphere was pleasant with rustic Old Florida decor and enough space between tables that conversations seemed private. Most of our group ordered the Autumn Salad which contained locally grown greens, blue cheese, pickled beets,... More

We have been to the Floridian three times, as such, our review will take all of our visits into consideration. The Floridian restaurant is an eclectic mix of hobo shabby chic and old Florida. Beverages served in mason jars and mismatched silverware sets the mood. The restaurant is tidy but a bit cluttered and more attention is needed to the... More

Stopped by here for lunch after a recommendation from a local. Was not disappointed at all. Had the best BBQ pulled pork sandwich ever. The combination of sweet and sour was spot on. Portions are quite large and very satisfying. Save room for dessert.

I dined here for dinner. Had the grit cakes for an appetizer - awesome. I was almost full and knew I should stop to save room for my main meal, but I just couldn't! For main course I had the spicy melt (blackened fish - can't remember what kind). And it was excellent too. Atmosphere was laid back, prices were... More

I have traveled to many cities in the U.S. known for good food and I can honestly say that this place probably outdoes just about every place I've ever eaten at for lunch! My wife had the "shrimp and grits" and I had the burger. Needless to say, both were excellently prepared and fresh! They pride themselves on dealing only... More

If you like good food and want to support the slow food movement then this place should be one of your staples. The blacked tofu melt is awesome, it's also good with fish. My parents always want to go when they visit and THEY ARE PICKY!

My wife and I eat here regularly and are never disappointed. There's no shortage of great restaurants downtown, but this is our favorite.

For anyone following organic, farm-to-table, whole-food-plant-based, vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free or other selective dining preferences, this is a real find! The service is friendly and attentive, the menu selections are diverse enough to match anyone's tastes (they do offer mainstream dishes, even cheeseburgers), and the atmosphere is as comfortable as walking into your grandmother's summer cottage.
